We are sure that Francis would be willing to bless Freemasonry? Of course, to the point of thundering that Freemasonry is incompatible with Catholicism. Truly, would be willing to bless abortion? How right you are dear Costanza, we are witnessing a real disconnect with reality! The pandemic trial period that we are still going through - with its inevitable tragedies and poverty - has taught man nothing at all, on the contrary, it hardened his intelligence and sclerotized his heart.

In this surreal landscape, qwhat I found particularly bad taste was the case of Mrs. Luciana Littizzetto, fatal Woman of the left take-away, who in Fabio Fazio's living room takes Senator Simone Pillon for a ride with a letter mocking his alleged homophobia [cf.. WHO]. This in the present days, because it is good to remember as in a very distant past, this Gentile Torinese, in need more than others than piety and Christian mercy, thus mocked the Supreme Pontiff Benedict XVI [cf.. WHO] but in the present, however, he is careful not to do it with the Supreme Pontiff Francis I, with which it is all sympathy, to the point of declaring itself "bergogliosa" [cf.. WHO] … I wonder why? Let's try to understand this through a recent interview with Alessandro Cecchi Paone on the Canale 9 by Peter Gomez, because that interview is a true paradigm. This famous reporter, first he replies to the interviewer by premising that he is a member of the highest echelons of Freemasonry, then he goes on to declare himself in favor of abortion, to euthanasia and homosexualism. All these statements interspersed with ejaculation: "Francis is a fantastic Pope" and "everything changed with him" [see fragment, WHO]. But they, they are really sure that the surreal Francis they invented is willing to bless Freemasonry? Of course, to the point that he made the Sovereign Order of Malta "commissioner" complaining that it was infiltrated by Freemasons and thundering that Freemasonry was incompatible with Catholicism [cf.. WHO]. Truly, the surreal Francesco they invented, would be willing to bless abortion? Of course, to the point of having declared that abortion is like hiring a hitman to kill an innocent [cf.. WHO]. Truly, they are sure that the surreal Francis they invented is willing to bless the socio-cultural exaltation of the active practice of homosexuality? Of course, to the point that speaking behind closed doors to all the Italian bishops he complained - that is, he reproached them - that the seminaries were full of homosexuals, stating in this regard that when in doubt it was better to give up a vocation rather than run the risk of admitting a homosexual to the seminary [cf.. WHO].

It is a script already seen and again we will see and will be repeated in the following months, politics is a Leviathan who crushes and devours everything and there is no reason to agree with Plato when in the Apology of Socrates he suggests that it is much better to listen to that divine voice of the Socratic δαίμων, which prohibits the philosopher from dealing with the affairs of the state on pain of death, discredit or exile (cf.. Christians do not fear death, discredit or exile, because they do not come to life from the theater of that multicolored and variegated mass of influence, actors, porn movie icons, singers, soubrette, cooks, dwarfs and dancers who uncritically recite the same slogans and dance the same; Christians are children of the God ofExulte of the Easter Vigil, hymn that narrates the victory over death and that taught us a way out of the tomb. Nor do they caciara in the talk show replacing in matters of theology and morals the trained priests who certainly do not found parties with a controlled Christian denomination but who are at the forefront to try to form and defend the people of God entrusted to them.

The style of the Gospel is the same as the mustard seed that germinates in smallness and in hiding to reveal itself capable of supporting the birds of the sky and giving shelter to the unfortunate. That is why I always feel a real sadness in noting that several Christians, some of which are engaged in parishes and convents, they stay with Littizzetto and share on Facebook the mocking prowess of the gianduiotta guitta, shown in video even on the page on-line of Famiglia Cristiana [cf.. WHO].

The question is simple, for us Christians, certain discourses or positions should not be seen in the dialectic of political conflict but of the paschal experience experienced on the living Christ, risen, who eats with his apostles and invites to touch him [cf.. meditation by Gabriele Giordano M. Scardocci, WHO].

Therefore dear Christians, refuse certain idea, ethical positions, political and social orientation means not indulging and taming the concupiscence that is the cause of sin. Instead we look for what is necessary, indeed the urgent, invoking that divine grace that moves the mountains of our sin, just as the Church teaches us to repeat in that beautiful invocation of the Liturgy of the Hours which opens every canonical hour: "Hate, come and save me, man, come to my aid soon ".

Yes, sir, come to our aid, we are too unable to help ourselves, if we lose faith in the illusion of following political fevers, we stop believing to find ourselves sadly pagan.

In journalistic jargon it is called “crocodile” the piece already written and placed in the drawer awaiting the death of the famous character. The archives of journalists are feet of crocodiles. Write a short piece, if anything, about a complex and controversial character, it is not easy. Having said this, I state that none of the Fathers de The Island of Patmos had a ready crocodile for the Swiss-German presbyter and theologian Hans Küng.

.

I have often made references to Hans Küng, recently also in a book of mine dedicated to two famous heretics of very small size: Kiko Argüello and Carmen Hernandez, the initiators of the Neocatechumenal Way, a veritable concentrate of returning heresies. All with a formal and substantial difference: heretics have always been superior and very brilliant minds, just think of an Arius or a Pelagius. Contrary to the two bohemians Spaniards who made even heresy expire, always the prerogative of the most sublime minds. And right in this book of mine called The sect Neocatechumenal. Heresy became Kiko and dwelt among us, I go back to using this famous theologian as a paradigm.

Giving a heretic to those who fall and remain in substantial and formal heresy it is not an insult, but a simple factual observation linked to the sphere of the doctrine of the faith. Or better understood: I know full-blown heretics who on the human level are people of rare amiability; and the same, on the ethical and moral level, they are people of impeccable conduct. Instead, I know just as many people, endowed with the purest and most orthodox doctrine, impeccable zealous theologians, with whom I try to avoid being in company for only ten minutes, so much do I consider them humanly unpleasant and sometimes even repellent.

.

Over the years, disserting on various theological themes I have frequently pointed out the Reverend Professor Hans Küng as a dangerous heretic, accusing him on several occasions of having carried out works of devastating demolition through the methodical de-structuring of some of the fundamental dogmas of the Catholic faith.

.

I have perhaps never stated and written that Hans Küng was a bad guy, a bad person or a mediocre unpleasant subject? Of course not! Hans Küng has always been a person of rare pleasantness, also naturally gifted with a physical appearance that made him look like an actor Hollywood, especially in the age group between fifty and sixty years, when natural beauty also combined the typical charm of mature men who have begun their journey towards old age in the best form. A beautiful figure therefore, masculine and charming, that had nothing to do with the figures of those priests and those theologians who in their physical appearance often appear as specks hovering between the androgynous, the asexual and the feminine.

Hans Küng was a true rising star of theology, with natural intellectual and speculative gifts and oratory and communicative qualities that other theologians did not have, among these his distinguished contemporary Joseph Ratzinger. Both were perished in the assembly of the Second Vatican Council between 1962 and the 1965, both in their early thirties, but with this difference: when Josef Ratzinger spoke, the listeners said to each other "this is a very good theologian", when instead Hans Küng spoke, listeners, in being deeply fascinated by his figure, from his oratory and his profound competence, they said to each other "this will reach who knows what levels in a few years".

The result of both is universally known: Hans Küng has become a speaker of heresies, Joseph Ratzinger became Metropolitan Archbishop of München, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and later 265th successor of the Blessed Apostle Peter.

.

That I am on the ecclesial and doctrinal side of Joseph Ratzinger and not by Hans Küng, it cannot in any way induce me, for emotional irrational affection, to deny the evidence of the facts: Hans Küng, intellectually and speculatively he had natural qualities greater than those of Joseph Ratzinger very high. If in fact the first was by nature a genius, the second was an intelligent person gifted for theological studies. And the difference between a genius and an intelligent and gifted subject is truly remarkable. Then, with the passage of time, it happened that the first became a dangerous heretic and the second Supreme Pontiff [excerpt from from the cited work, pag. 43-44, I ed. Rome 2019, Editions The island of Patmos].

The damage that Hans Küng produced were remarkable, starting from a brilliant intelligence with all the higher abilities connected to it, used to damage the Church and the theological world. This is why the priests, those who still believe in God's judgment, to eternal life, to Paradise, in Hell and Purgatory - which is not at all obvious these days - they would do well to offer Holy Masses of suffrage for the soul of this brother of ours, who will surely need it very much.

Good Friday of the Year of the Lord 2021

When the Blessed Apostle Paul affirmed: "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me " (Gal 2,20), in those who wondered the price he paid to reach this goal? The last was his blood price, when in Rome he was executed by beheading.

.

In one of his epistles the Blessed Apostle Peter admonishes us:

.

“You know how you were freed from that meaningless life you inherited from your fathers: the price of your ransom was not paid in gold or silver, things that pass; you have been redeemed with the precious blood of Christ. He sacrificed himself for you as a pure and spotless lamb. God had destined him for this even before the creation of the world; Now, in these times that are the last, he has manifested for you. And you, through him, believe in God who raised him from the dead and gave him glory. So your faith and your hope are directed towards God ". (The Pt 1, 18-21)

.

To announce these truths a whole series of presuppositions are needed which start first of all from the three theological virtues, which are faith, hope and charity (cf.. The Cor 13,13). But to announce the Holy Gospel of the dead Christ the Redeemer, resurrected and ascended to heaven, to recover the lost, wash the souls of sinners and support the afflicted, very material means are also needed; and not from today, but since the first apostolic age.

.

Someone might ask: between the many days of the year and the various holidays and solemnities, there was no day other than Good Friday, to ask help? Or maybe we are talking about money under the agonized cross of Christ? Yup, because in order to bring that redeeming blood to men we need means that are now increasingly scarce, even if our apostolic work is not simply intense, it is often exhausting.

The answer to Pilate's question "What is truth?Would really be the simplest: "The truth is the man you have in front of you, the Word of God. He is the truth”. On this Good Friday, let us adore the cross to commemorate all this, because it is on the cross that the truth is found, which is the answer to Pilate's question and to our question.

The 2 April of 2020 the presbyter Antonio Livi returned to the Father's House, last exponent of the Roman School and co-founder of the magazine The Island of Patmos whose Fathers remember him in prayer on this Good Friday

As a starting point for this reflection let's take the Gospel of the Passion of St. John the Evangelist (18,1 – 19,42)

«Pilate then reentered the praetorium, he called Jesus and told him: “You are the king of the Jews?”. Jesus replied: “You say this for yourself, or have others told you about me?”. Pilate said: “Maybe I am a Jew? Your people and the chief priests have handed you over to me. What have you done?”. Jesus answered: “My kingdom is not of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have fought to keep me from being handed over to the Jews; but my kingdom is not from here ". Then Pilate said to him: “So you are king?”. Jesus answered: “You say it: I am a king. For this I was born and for this I came into the world: to bear witness to the truth. Whoever it belongs to the truth, listen to my voice ". Pilate tells him: "What is the truth?”».

There are so many memories that emerge from every Good Friday. A special day from a spiritual point of view, liturgical and, not at least, from a purely human point of view. I have memories of when as a child, in a country of Sabina where I always spent my holidays, one Good Friday I left the house alone and walked along the paths that led to the town's parish. You could go it alone, without any danger. It was three o'clock and like every Good Friday the old parish priest, always in his impeccable cassock, in his steady but sweet gaze he initiated the celebration of the Lord's Passion, wearing a gorgeous and dramatic red planet. With the lay brotherhood of the Good Death who attended and many faithful who filled the church and helped in the liturgy. It had to be the 1992. Not many years ago. I remember how that liturgy was filled with something different, of sacred, of what years later in theological studies I would have known with the name of Sacred and Totally Other.

I thank God for that Good Friday of 1992, when in silence I left the house and entered the church for that Liturgical Action. Because perhaps it was the first time that I realized on the skin of the great gift of love of Jesus. But beyond the memory of the first living and authentic encounter of the Christ suffering, today, which is no longer the 1992 and that I am a priest, albeit recently, that sense of Totally Other, to enter the drama of Jesus is even more vivid.

.

On this Good Friday I wish to dwell on the dialogue between Pilate and Jesus. This is due to a number of reasons. I believe that in the figure and in the words of the Roman administrator, there are a number of facets and themes that concern all of us believers of the Catholic Church. Clerics, religious and laity. Because Pilate somewhat embodies the man of today. All of us today can see something of ourselves in Pilate. Huge civil responsibilities, administrative, social. And above all a discernment on the moral choices to be made. In both cases there is always little, very little time to decide. Making a discernment always and in any case full of voices that follow one another, of false witnesses and half-truths. We are a little’ all Pilate that we try to find out something about Jesus. But let's see his words and the Lord's answers.

.

Pilate re-entered the praetorium, he called Jesus and told him: «You are the king of the Jews?». Jesus replied: "You say this to you, or have others told you about me?». The first word is a question for Jesus. To the letter it is a request for clarification of jurisdiction, to assess whether the man in front of him was actually taking the place of the Emperor. Pilate is aware of this. And he wants to go to the bottom. In this sense, he also wonders about the true nature of Jesus. The Roman administrator does not have the means to understand the mystery of Christ. He cannot understand neither the teachings nor the actions of that man who is accused. But he wants to understand what Jesus' true responsibility is. Pilate wants to understand what the place of Jesus is in his life. If you have to accept him as a man, as king or as someone else who still does not grasp.

.

Pilate is above all the figure of the seeker of God. By it I mean a person who is growing in faith, who questioned his own atheism; he has an attitude of one who often asks Jesus “Who are you?? You are the king?”. The seeker of God also wonders what Jesus wants from his life. If his teaching is a philosophy, an ideology or an authoritarian Word. This is why Jesus replies to Pilate and to every seeker of God “You say this on your own or you have been told about me?”. It is a continuous reminder that Jesus offers us. To abandon the personal mental patterns or our dominant culture. We seek God first of all with an open heart. In a lively and authentic and life changing Encounter.

Pilate said: «Maybe I am a Jew? Your people and the chief priests have handed you over to me. What have you done?». Jesus answered: «My kingdom is not of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have fought to keep me from being handed over to the Jews; but my kingdom is not from here ". The second word is a dry reply from Pilate. Seems a bit’ one of those things that are said just to mumble something in front of an unexpected phrase. But there is also a need to reflect on the fact that Pilate remembers that Jesus was handed over to him. As if the Roman administrator suddenly found himself in front of an unknown person of whom he knew nothing. Here is the difficult discernment to do. And this is a characteristic experience of the seeker of God. For him, as for all of us, Jesus is delivered and passed on by others. We rarely know him alone and never deepen his knowledge alone. There is always someone who talks to us about Jesus: culture, the family, friends… The seeker of God lives this search of his as a community. For believers, in the Church.

.

Finally Jesus replies that this is not his kingdom. It is neither of this world nor of here below. Another completely unexpected answer for anyone. So much so that now, Pilate, he has well understood that Christ is not playing hide and seek by leaving evasive words. He says something that escapes him. There is another kingdom, even stronger, more robust and solid even than the Roman Empire. There is a kingdom misunderstood by the members of the Sanhedrin who led Jesus to the authorities and the Romans. There is another kingdom, even stronger, more robust and solid even than the Roman Empire, intent on worshiping Augustus and the pagan Pantheon. Thus Jesus also today shakes the seeker of God. He tells him there is something that goes beyond immanence, political domination and money. There is a kingdom of Trinitarian light, that escapes human logic. Even the most believing and devoted of Catholics, undertakes to enter into this perspective of light. But this is really difficult for anyone, so much so that Pilate, he is now without words, he replies. At that point she told him: "So you are a king?». Jesus answered: "You say: I am a king. For this I was born and for this I came into the world: to bear witness to the truth. Whoever it belongs to the truth, hears my voice ". Yes finally here is the revelation: Jesus is the king, but it is true of truth and charity. For this, to be a witness, martyr of truth was incarnated. This is how Christmas is also fulfilled, celebrated in the middle of winter. In the spring of the world, the spring of man begins. In Jesus Christ: listening to his voice it is possible to make the soul and the human spirit flourish. I'm not Augusto, Socrates or the philosophical schools to renew and give power to man: only the search for the Truth and the Power of Love of Charity, in welcoming Jesus who suffers from the Passion, they offer the definitive answer to the seeker of God.

The closing of this passage from the Holy Gospel of John it is truly emblematic for our time: Pilate tells him: "What is truth?». This is the question of all of us. A question that, despite the constant prayer, continuous meditation, the continuous dialogue with God, always comes back. St. Augustine, commenting on this passage, however, he was able to tell us what Jesus' silent response is. In Latin: What is truth? It can be anagram as an answer: It is the man who is present. Yet the answer to the question "What is truth?Would really be the simplest: "The truth is the man you have in front of you”.

This is the final goal. The seeker of God finally finds a solution. Real, authentic concrete. That man who suffers out of love for all humanity. His, it's the truth. On this Good Friday, let us adore the cross to commemorate all this, because it is on the cross that the truth is found, which is the answer to Pilate's question and to our question.

Browsing on Facebook I could not fail to notice the sharing of a post by the theologian Andrea Grillo which announced the imminent release of one of his contributions in a Catholic magazine entitled: "Blessing: style to give the word to the possible good ".

The thing is, my dear readers, that we are faced with a theological problem that affects that particular theological virtue which is faith. Homosexuals have nothing to do with it, but nothing at all, absolutely! For some Church personalities it would be appropriate to allow and impart savage blessings at all costs as is done with the like on social network. And if certain realities have not yet been sacramentalized, at least they try to extract consent from the blessing which is a sacramental because, as Don Giulio Mignani had the opportunity to say, a blessing is no longer denied to anyone. It's a bit like saying: “Dear gay brother, now I cannot celebrate your wedding in the Church but I give you the blessing which is a first step to clear your marriage in the future. Because you know, your marriage in the Church is still seen as a suburban wedding but it already has a certain good and value. An understandable and shareable good, humanly possible, understood as salvation and redemption within the reach of the man in the street, obtained perhaps with the support of the Sanhedrin and some condescending official of the Roman Empire. I am sure that if Judas were to go to trial today he would be acquitted, any lawyer bumblebee would be able to save him because he is basically human, indeed too human.

I appreciate Silvana De Mari, specialist in general surgery and endoscopy, of which I read the articles on The truth, even if I don't always agree with his analyzes. In fact, I believe that personal appreciation must never turn into a-critical veneration. When we esteem a person, it is a must to maintain clarity in the face of his positions, without losing the critical and analytical sense. This without disdaining the sacred fire of passion in a personality, positive element if wisely channeled, because excesses of passion can produce more problems than good.

Some positions of the thought of Doctor Silvana De Mari which concern questions of sexual morality, as is the case with homosexuality and its physical expression, they need a surplus of prudence not only in the medical field but also in that multidisciplinarity that makes medicine dialogue with Catholic morality and pastoral. And I say this not so much in reference to the subjects directly concerned - people with homoaffective orientations and attitudes - but in reference to the sexual practices and lifestyles that homosexuality carries with it.

Leaving with excessive passion in dealing with such delicate issues, as any young newspaper columnist would do, more than professionally risky, it is also ethically risky if the speaker is a doctor, therefore a man of science who, through observation and clinical studies, should provide documented data, also underlining the possible dark sides of the issue and the deadlocks. The latest storm that affected Silvana De Mari concerns her book Let's not get gagged, recently censored by Amazon in the distribution network online. The publishing house Faith&Culture with whom this author published her book, expressed solidarity with this stance through a press release from the publisher Giovanni Zenone:

«On Friday we received an email from Amazon saying that our book was written by Silvana De Mari, Let's not get gagged, was removed from sale in both ebook and print as it violates Amazon's guidelines (essentially because it tells the truth about the medical consequences of sodomitic practice)» [cf.. WHO].

This Publisher who today complains about censorship and martyrdom perhaps at the gates, should think of our Father Ariel S. Levi di Gualdo, than in the public domain, national editorial and television is not all that unknown. As a priest and theologian he has addressed issues related to homosexuality and the LGBT world several times, I also speak to more live broadcasts with some well-known exponents of this world, using, where necessary, a lot of severity and decision in supporting the foundations and Catholic moral doctrine, certainly not his personal opinions. In the episode of Straight and Reverse of 8 October 2020 the Honorable Alessandro Zan contested regarding the bill on transomophobia. Days ago, in one of his articles published in our magazine on 17 March [cf.. WHO], referring to his friend Paolo Poli - to whom it is clear from the lines how fond he was -, using a language that is not spicy or foul but literary and theatrical, made various ironic references to "fags", term now listed - rightly - in that sequence of insults for which any gay can take legal action, asking for and obtaining the almost certain condemnation of those who have publicly insulted him as a natural person, or the entire gay community. But it is precisely here that something does not add up: Father Ariel has always criticized LGBT lobbies, is opposed to the media riots of homosexualism, to the Gay Pride that parade in Rome in front of the most ancient symbolic places of Christianity and has always been opposed to all attempts at forced imposition of the theory of gender. He also wrote all this in his books published by our Editions, which are not only distributed by Amazon, they are also printed in the two European printing works located in Poland and England. So we "depend" on the excellent Amazon service, to which we are affiliated as editions, not just for sale online, but also for printing and distribution. For this the Publisher of Faith&Culture who complains about censorship on the one hand is perhaps a martyrdom at the gates on the other, he should be wondering: why Father Ariel's books have never had any problems? Above all, because he has never been sued by LGBT associations, despite having even made his debut on a live television, the 31 October 2019, affirming in front of several cases of truly extreme homosexuality: “Tonight it seems to be at the little queer theater!». Clearly humorous hyperbolic expression with which even the exponents of the same LGBT world laughed. Because, exponents of the LGBT world, in this priest and theologian they see a "rival" who expresses the thought of Catholic doctrine and morals and carries forward the ideas based on them, while in the specialist doctor Silvana De Mari they see a person who has insulted the whole of their community? This would be the question to ask and to answer, whereas the criminal judge of the Court of Turin Melania Eugenia Cafiero clarifies in the reasoning of the sentence that the accused was sentenced for the following sentence written on her blog: "The LGBT movement wants to annihilate freedom of opinion and is spreading pedophilia more and more", while the other statements regarding the LGBT community are not punishable because "the right to express one's thoughts is a constitutionally guaranteed right […] Therefore, it is not the thought that is tried but its offensiveness to the juridical property protected in a criminal context ", that is, having associated pedophilia with an identifiable collective subject, the LGBT community.

From the Publisher's press release Of Faith&Culture this author's book is presented as politically incorrect and dangerous, therefore deserving of being boycotted and withdrawn from the publishing market, because it states that homoaffective sexual practice from a medical point of view is highly harmful. What's wrong? What falsehoods are asserted? What scientific and medical data have been altered? What truths omitted? Specifically, the summary of the speech carried out by Doctor Silvana De Mari specialist in general surgery and endoscopy on the issue reported in her book is based on a simple observation: homoaffective relationships insist on an anatomically incompatible and risky sexual style in which the active partner exposes the passive to organic stress in the final part of the intestine. Indeed, trauma and a myriad of microlacerations would occur in the delicate walls of the rectum and anal canal due to the passage of the penis not anatomically compatible as it does in the vagina. This would lead to extremely painful conditions and the risk of facilitating the transmission of sexually transmitted diseases [cf.. WHO].

.

There is apparently nothing wrong with that in the medical opinion of this specialist, but what I would like to point out is a generalization of the problem only to the homoaffective sexual sphere and to the only clinical-experiential practice that she has had the opportunity to encounter in her years of activity as a doctor. So if there is a mistake, it consists of an extreme generalization of the problem and a univocity of the experience relating to the cases treated only.

.

I wish to remind the Readers that unnatural behaviors in sexual matters are not the exclusive prerogative of homosexuals but also of heterosexuals. When the Church speaks of sexual relations "in the human way" she is not only referring to a natural complementarity, physiological and anatomical but also functional and relational. All the alternative variants on the theme distort human sexuality which is unique and ordained by God for a specific purpose, leaving out the implications omo and heterodirect, of which a psychological component must also and above all be kept in mind. If for this reason this is the discourse we want to make, we must broaden the range of the discussion, not reduce it, if anything, by analyzing specific cases, as such and not as absolute. The good doctor-specialist should try to imagine how many priests in the exercise of their ministry are faced with women harassed by constant requests for sexual practices alternative from husbands, companions and boyfriends who could sometimes make the most unscrupulous porn actors blush. And all this in silence and general indifference, that justifies and includes everything in the normality of the duties of women towards men. For these poor girls of all ages, the only consolation and outlet in front of these proposals consists in fraternal and frank dialogue with the confessor or with the spiritual father, in order to find a solution to the anguish felt and the feeling of disorder aroused in the soul.

However, we must not forget at the same time the existence of a case study that sees the fair sex as the applicant for alternative sexual services from their partners, who, if anything, are very impressed by these requests, because they do not consider sodomy at all as the achievement of an erotic practice but as a serious lack of respect towards the woman. And today we priests find ourselves having to deal with this too: women, especially young people, who ask for certain services and men who refuse them, often being very touched by certain requests.

.

For these and other reasons I believe that the digressions on the use dell’ano multitasking are not subject to scientific investigation in the books of Doctor Silvana De Mari, nor by the censorship of Amazon and the Rainbow people. In fact, these are sexual practices that can concern and deepen in life situations much more common and serious, medically more critical and morally more compromising. In a society like ours that believes it has freed itself from sexual taboos, there is nothing more moralistic than a silence that is silent on the silence of so many poor people who live a daily martyrdom originating from a sexuality not yet understood as liberating and friend of ' man.

For them it is against nature ".

Not all specialists in internal medicine and gastroenterology and urology, including several Catholics, they agree with colleague Silvana De Mari. Affirm as a member of the medical profession that homosexuals, for their lifestyle, they represent a category exposed and more subject to certain diseases and even to certain cancers, including colorectal cancer, all without bringing any scientific evidence and least of all documented statistics, it's really risky and risky, other than censorship and gags.

I personally see the danger to make gay people even more ghettoized, a protected category for pathology, favoring that corporate gap that justifies a victimization that is the generator of reckless laws such as those that are proposed in parliament, I am obviously referring to the Zan-Scalfarotto bill which can seriously risk going to strike the crimes of opinion. Just as Father Ariel said to the Honorable Alessandro Zan at that program of Straight and Reverse of 8 October 2020, certainly not bringing his personal opinions but pointing out that the Italian bishops had raised many perplexities, knowing the consequences produced by similar laws passed in other countries of the world in application of which we have already had more bishops and priests condemned by the courts simply for having said that marriage is such only between a man and a woman and that a child can only be born from a father and a mother.

To this speech add the concrete possibility of reading such related pathologies as a divine punishment for a sinful lifestyle. If masturbation once made adolescents go blind, today colon or rectal cancer would perhaps be the consequence of inadequate use of one's intestines.? We realize the extent of such utterances and the laughable consequences that would relegate us Catholics to irrecoverable bigots or sexophobics.?

If it is necessary to do criticism and resistance then you have to start from a long and meticulous job, rigorous and with numerous tests on different disciplinary fields, as well as associations ProLife they did to dismantle the lawfulness of abortion. If this approach does not exist or exists in part - because it is I who say it -, the game is facilitated by LGBT organizations that will sue and attack all people with lawsuits such as Doctor Silvana De Mari, with the sole result of endorsing the accusations of homophobia which then in the criminal sphere will find acceptance in sentences that do not affect the faculty of expressing one's thought as a constitutional right but as an offensive intentionality underlying a thought conveyed. This is why I gave the example of Father Ariel and the line adopted by us Fathers of The Island of Patmos in our magazine of ecclesial theology and pastoral updating: our task as priests, theologians and pastors in the care of souls is to condemn sin in a decisive way, but always welcoming the sinner, especially the worst sinners. Then, if with the excuse of welcoming the sinner someone should instead claim the right to sin by passing evil into good, without hesitation we will always answer that sin is not a right and that it can never be accepted.

Maybe someone will turn up their nose at these words, but today we must be shrewd and protected in all possible ways. Being martyrs for the Gospel and for the teaching of the Church is a commendable thing, being so for one's own imprudence or passion is a little less so. And I say this by saving all the good intentions that are not immediately knowable. Because of this, to me and my brothers, I am very sorry for Doctor Silvana De Mari, woman who lives on passion but also on undeniable stubbornness, which similarly to other Christian brothers can provoke, with all the good intentions of the case, damage to the weak, the simple and confused of our time.

In the fourth week of Lent, when the Sunday in Laetare, also known as Happiness Sunday, I wondered what happiness is, above all what can lead us to its discovery. It is a question that haunts many Christian souls, especially today, when hedonism and materialism are triumphing in the world.

.

The year 2021 was born under the severe burden of the pandemic, with all the social and economic problems that follow. Problems we were filled with before; problems that I fear we will be plagued by again in the future, perhaps for a long time. Enough to complain about the subtraction of the ... "right to happiness".

.

For many today, happiness is knowing if you can go out, enjoy the nightlife and meet up for an aperitif with friends, if it is possible to resume the usual habits, in a life without pain, disease, aging, physical decay and death. In short, the triumph of the world of the unreal, as we have often written and complained the Fathers de The Island of Patmos on these columns of ours. Of course, wanting to know when this nightmare is over and wanting it to end, it's understandable to say the least, less is the rejection of reality, in this society of ours of immortal young people who do not suffer, they do not get sick, they do not age, they do not physically decay and ultimately do not die.

For many, happiness is having the latest smartphone, a season ticket in the stands of your favorite team's stadium, or win that girl like she was a trophy, if anything, just for a night of passion. And with this the world of the so-called "three S's" was painted: sex, money and success. For many, happiness is mainly constituted by the liquidity of money with which one can achieve success and have the best sexual satisfactions.. And precisely with regard to liquids, Jerome David Salinger wisely illustrated the substantial difference between happiness and joy:

There is much to discuss, on the concept of subjective human happiness changed into positive law, for example wondering how it is possible to raise a subjective or collective emotional state of the person rightly. May man seek happiness understood as physical and psychological well-being, this has always been known. All the more reason we should understand what is meant by happiness on a legal and philosophical level, perhaps the cynical-Socratic virtue or perhaps the suppression of the desire instinct of the Epicurean school? What then the pursuit of happiness both the purpose of human life is a decidedly widespread philosophical position with noble and ancient origins. The question therefore requires understanding, first of all, what happiness is: it is perhaps the stoic and skeptical ataraxia transmitted as a virtue by the Socratic school, or the suppression of the desire of the Epicurean school?

All this is in itself something very liquid, while instead the Lord guides us to the discovery of solid happiness, that is born and becomes stable through the encounter with him. Solid joy is escaping the works of darkness and evil, that satisfy the ephemeral desire for revenge. Indeed:

A few days ago, while I was preparing articles, a friend introduced a new discussion on an ancient theme, but always full of reflections: science and faith. I have already spoken about it at various times with reference to the topic of vaccines. My friend gave me a nice article written by the Jesuit Paolo Beltrame the 4 March and titled: If the quanta shed light on theology. Featured on La Civiltà Cattolica with the title Maybe God plays dice?

I was very pleased read this article, which also reminded me of my university years when I too studied the subject of philosophy of science for about a year, studying the beautiful text of Werner Heisenberg, Physics and Philosophy, to then study quantum theory in depth, although he did not go into mathematical terminology [N.d.R. Before joining the Order of Friars Preachers, Father Gabriel attended the degree courses in philosophy at the University of Rome La Sapienzaa]. The Jesuit Paolo Beltrame offers a reflection-bridge between quantum theory and Trinitarian theology. I leave you the full reading of the article which does not require excessive skills in either physics or philosophy.

Whenever we know something, from knowing the amount of money to pay at the supermarket to get groceries, at the times of Holy Masses, then coming to the great life choices, how to know if we can trust that person or not, there is always a relationship between us and the known object. The known object closes itself to us because it is observed by our senses that measure it. It becomes evident to us and to all who observe and measure it. Of course, not all reality is a measurable and calculable phenomenon. Man is not a mere meter. But the whole reality is still studied, learned, including because it is related to us. St. Thomas Aquinas said that then the truth of a certain datum is an adjustment between the mind that knows that datum and the datum itself, that is, adjustment between the intellect and reality.
