What to say? We are in full sin against the Holy Spirit. Why deny and reject the truths of faith, who have certainly had the opportunity to learn in the parish and in Catholic Action and to fight them by considering them erroneous means closing one's eyes to the works that the Holy Spirit accomplishes through the action of the Church. He Prof. Luigi Manconi and S.E.. Mons. Vincenzo Paglia they put the book to the press The meaning of life. Dialogue between a religious and a little believer. The 18 April the two authors were guests in the living room of the biased Fabio Fazio, excellent war machine of the left radical chic.

Dialogue with non-believing scholars it can be very important and constructive. Initially, Vincenzo Paglia, does not start badly, however, he begins to get lost after the first few bars, and then quickly get lost, completely. From this bleak television host, a subject emerges who tries to meet the interlocutor in a truly disheartening way, showing in concrete facts that they are afraid to say the very things that should be said. Example: before an objection such as "In the event of a serious illness, the last decision, whether to die or live, it must be mine ", the Archbishop President from the Pontifical Academy for Life, cannot answer: "The important thing is that the patient is not left alone". It is a statement worthy of a romantic nun who is convinced that she can solve the tragedies of life and death by stroking the hand of the dying person. Something else would have been the question to be made, but Vincenzo Paglia evaded it without answering a fundamental question: a patient can ask the state to be killed, without anyone being able to give him any kind of hope just because he has decided so?

The reality of the facts is that Vincenzo Paglia is a limited little man not able to handle dialogue of this kind, all the more to a live television broadcast. Its serious flaw is that it tends excessively to distort the essence of Catholic faith and morality in order to meet those who claim the right not to take Catholic faith and morals into the least consideration. We can, indeed we must dialogue with everyone, but always keeping firm points, because if in some cases it is good to stand out in others we are required to distance ourselves and divide ourselves from certain interlocutors who try to impose ideas on life, ethics and morals which are totally unacceptable for Catholic faith and sentiment.

I try to clarify everything better with an example: In the 2000, when he came out there Declaration Dominus Iesus in which the exclusive concept of the salvific uniqueness of Christ God is reaffirmed, at a Door to door directed on the First Rai Channel by Bruno Vespa, the Dominican theologian Daniel Ols was invited. At a certain point Fabio Fazio throws this appetizing question to Luigi Manconi:

«[…] there is also the individual choice of the sphere of sexuality, it is a theme that is dealt with very clearly. Also here, I don't think sexual orientation really agrees with you ".

The scholar responds promptly:

«[…] It must be said that the Catholic Church, ecclesial pastoral care, thanks also to Pope Francis, he has made enormous progress. And yet the Catechism of the Catholic Church still bears the affirmation that homosexuality is an expression of sexual disorder. Then, the great openness of the Church towards homosexuals essentially risks perfecting a serious misunderstanding, that is, basically I welcome homosexuals as long as they do not act homosexual, that is, I welcome homosexuals only if they perform chastity ... that is, what emerges is not just a legal question. Same-sex marriage, to understand each other, it is a matter of substance and concerns the very concept of love and pleasure, this is the very fascinating knot ... ".

Pay close attention: a few words Luigi Manconi carries out a work of total destructive devastation that separates morality from pastoral care and the Church from the Supreme Pontiff. On the one hand he praises and exalts the Reigning Pontiff, on the other hand he attacks the Catechism which he presents as unthinkable in actuality. Fabio Fazio does not linger and intervenes with a series of statements disguised as questions:

Let's say that the paths that are taken to shorten these distances are paths that mark, to put it right, the tremor of fear, in the sense that there are no easy choices in any way and there are no easy positions in any way. But, Monsignor, I think I can say that the issue of self-determination is fundamental, that is, the positions diverge when it comes to talking about issues such as euthanasia, sexual orientations, abortion, in which precisely what we call self-determination comes into play ".

At this point Vincenzo Paglia manifests the best of its limitation, proving that he was not even able to grasp the destructive splits made by Luigi Manconi, while the interviewer took care to pack him a poison puff that the President of the Pontifical Academy for Life swallows without even chewing, through this response:

«I would be careful to reflect on this issue of self-determination, which is a word also linked to freedom. there, here the crux is: but we, we are truly free in an absolute sense? We are disconnected from others? For me it is not like that, we are all united. Our every gesture is always a social gesture, always requires a relationship with the other and the covid showed us this in a dramatic way: we put on the masks, we have a distance, not only to defend ourselves but to defend others as well. In this sense I said, in our dialogue with Luigi, that self-determination to freedom is obvious that it is a founding value, but freedom must always be linked to fraternity and equality, if we want to resume the triad of the French Revolution. And in this the line of charity, solidarity, or Pope Francis would say "of universal brotherhood", I think it is a line that we must fully resume on all fronts ".

Such an answer is worse than raising the white flag from the trenches, because in war, the deed of surrender, it has its own deep dignity, while the prostitution of those who indulge in all the worst whims of the customer without feeling pleasure and without being paid, he has no dignity, since he does not even do it for pleasure or for money, but only out of pure and gratuitous servility aimed at the satisfaction of others. To understand this unsuccessful dialogue that arises from the incapacities and limitations of Vincenzo Paglia, it would be enough to think of the square of opposti, or logical, by Michele Psello: the opposite propositions will meet each other if desired, but the contradictory ones are not. This is why Vincenzo Paglia proved unable to carry on a dialogue of this type, not failing to arouse embarrassment in all of us, Catholic priests and theologians, through the use of categories worthy of the most seasoned Freemason, instead of shepherds taking care of souls. Here then is that the dialectic is dragged once again into the political struggle and the annihilation of the adversary, something very clear to Professor Luigi Manconi, unknown instead to Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia who launches into a continuous gurgling of clichés and third-rate pastoralisms, ignoring even the foundations of those philosophical and theological categories which should support a Christian thought.

Having then magnified the cardboard idol of the French Revolution to please the ultra secularists at all costs, marked the apotheosis of Vincenzo Paglia's objective idiocy, unaware of the principles of freedom, equality and fraternity are the foundations of Christian ethics, not an invention of the Enlightenment and much less of the French Revolution, which was the largest and most violent bloodbath of modernity. These three gospel principles were then taken, twisted and transformed into anti-Christian elements, while the blood ran in rivers under the guillotines. These, they are the historical fruits of the French Revolution, all the rest are false historians and legends created at the table during the nineteenth century by liberal enlighteners and Freemasons. Well I fear that poor Vincenzo Paglia ignores all this, in the same way that perhaps the person who has placed him in the delicate role he covers ignores him.

After having hit the mark, Fabio Fazio takes the reins to lead the donkey and finally tie it where the owner wants, continuing like this:

Now tied like a donkey to the stake chosen for him, Vincenzo Paglia is now literally addicted to the desire to please at all costs and whatever it costs, until giving an answer that seems packaged and then came out of the mouth of Nichi Vendola:

The Pope Francis I, who, as I have written and explained several times, is not a polyglot like his Supreme Predecessor John Paul II was and who does not have a particularly good command of the Italian language, but how presumptuous and stubborn as few, he insists on talking to journalists off the cuff, in any case, he enunciated a profoundly and obviously Catholic concept. Let's go in order, first he began by saying: "If a person is gay and seeks the Lord and has good will" - this premise is of no small importance - "who am I" continues the Supreme Pontiff "to judge him?». Then he goes on stating: "The Catechism of the Catholic Church says that these people must not be discriminated against but welcomed". To those who then the message was not clear adds: “The problem is not having these tendencies, they are brothers, the problem is lobbying […]».

This is the whole sentence pronounced in response to the reporter from the Supreme Pontiff Francis during one of his return flights to Rome. It's been years that unfortunately, uselessly, in my articles, video-lessons and conferences, I explain what the Supreme Pontiff really said with that sentence: above all that welcoming the sinner who seeks God is the founding mission of the Church, that does not reject anyone, starting with homosexual people. Moreover, none of us, starting from the Successor of the Blessed Apostle Peter, he can read and judge the conscience of a man, that God alone can read and, above all, to judge. Hence the obvious statement consistently and theologically Catholic: "Who am I to judge?». To follow with the call to the lobbies which is equivalent to saying: the problem is not having these tendencies, but to pass them through the social and political activism of gay lobbies as well. Which is to say: the problem, for the Church which must always welcome the sinner, it is not having these tendencies; the problem is sin, or rather the lobbies that would demand acceptance and legitimation not of the sinner, but of sin. And the Church will never be able to sanctify sin, even if all the lobbies of this world claim it and demand it.

Unfortunately, the phrase "who am I to judge?"?» torn from its articulated context, ended up on the banners of Gay Pride between the cries of crazy queers masquerading as nuns in fishnet stockings and stilettos. So the Supreme Pontiff did not say this the same way he did, to quote another billboard from Gay Pride, when St. Augustine Bishop and Doctor of the Church says "love and do what you want", by no means does he mean that a boy can get on all fours with another boy who works behind him. This badly extrapolated Augustinian expression, it is inserted in a commentary on the First Letter of St. John, in which, amare, it means to conform, through human freedom, our will to God's will. This means "love and do what you want", to do fully the will of God, source of eternal love. It does not mean getting on all fours with a boy who works behind you and with everything Gay Pride praising "love and do what you want".

I refuse to comment on this confused anthology of Vincenzo Paglia, to the same extent that I would refuse to see and then comment on a porn movie. Why this, at the bottom of, Vincenzo Paglia deserves: to be beaten like the merchants in the temple.

It's true, I remain free to think differently from Revelation and the Church but in this case I will have the decency and the intelligence not to define myself as a Catholic Christian and not to take advantage of an ecclesial reality, such as Catholic Action, to advertise my personal and rambling positions of heterodirect thinking. Because if that were the case, the glorious Catholic Action, once a guarantee of catholicity for many faithful, would find herself being downgraded to public vespasian where her young offspring have already started peeing out of the pot, with the sole consequence of spreading not the good scent of Christ but that of urine as happens for any public bathroom. After that, as soon as their post began to circulate, but especially, after our Hypatia Gatta Romana wrote a short ironic article his The Island of Patmos, opened in just over an hour since almost 100.000 Visitors, it happened that, with the typical arrogance of those who do not admit error, but indeed it confirms it, young people have removed this post by replacing it with another in which they confirm the contents of the previous one. And if there is anything worse than committing understandable, sometimes inevitable and above all forgivable human errors, it is the obstinacy to support and confirm the error. What this leads us to the greatest and most serious of all deadly sins: the Superbia.

The faithful Catholic is well aware that his thought is enlightened by the grace of Christ who through Baptism and Confirmation was informed by the Holy Spirit so that Christ and the Church do not become the victims of the ideological liberalism that homologates right reason. For this dear children of Castel di Lucio, you have no excuses and even when they praise you - including priests - for your very respectable post, know that they are false praise and liars! Yup, I tell you false and liars on the basis of the same praises that Jesus fled because he was aware of the fact that human malice elects as sovereign whoever satisfies his own belly [cf.. GV 6,15] forgetting the soul in which God dwells.

But let's read directly from the official Facebook page of the Catholic Action of Castel di Lucio the comment, currently removed, in support of the propaganda photo of the Scalfarotto-Zan bill:

So formulated this statement is nothing short of embarrassing, because an average-trained seminarian in the third year of theology would be enough to highlight all the gross errors in both scriptural and moral matters. But let's go into detail:

This is patently false and malicious! Because Christ does not fit into the imagination of the South American revolutionary advocate of Liberation Theology or the Robin Hood who steals from the rich to give to the poor. The closeness of Christ for all men, therefore not only for the poor, it can be understood only by looking at the mystery of the Incarnation. And in a particular way, it is at the moment of his baptism in the Jordan that he - true God and true man - solidarizes and shares man's condition of weakness. He undergoes a baptism of conversion so that man understands that only with man God is it possible to free oneself from sin. We see the same thing on Easter evening when Jesus joins the disciples of Emmaus who, foolish and slow of heart to believe [cf.. For Jesus the last are sinners, just as it was in the case of Matthew the Publican, of Zacchaeus, dell'Adultera, of the Paralytic, of the Canaanite woman, of the Good Thief. Indeed, he came to call not the righteous but sinners, and in the encounter with the sinner he gives an abundance of mercy together with the command not to sin anymore [cf.. GV 5,14; 8-11], the same that the priest confessor pronounces after sacramental absolution.

In the relationship with the scribes and the Pharisees it is true that we can read Jesus' open contrast to their hypocritical lifestyle but it is aimed above all at repentance. They too are in a sense called friends. As for Nicodemus, Jesus invites scribes, Pharisees and doctors of the Law to be reborn from above [cf.. GV 3,1-15] so that they can acquire the wisdom of the Holy Spirit and thus fulfill the role of teachers in communion with the will of God.

It goes without saying that such an attitude of Jesus does not invalidate the goodness of the Mosaic Law that, although it is insufficient for salvation as the apostle Paul will say in the letter to the Romans, it is not rejected:

.

“Practice and observe everything they tell you, but do not act according to their works, because they say and do not do " [cf.. Mt 23,1-7] […] "You do not think that I have come to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I have not come to abolish, but to fulfill " [cf.. Mt 5,17].

.

These are homophobic gay, or simply homosexual human beings with common sense?

Jesus knows the Law the A he interprets as the wisest and most refined exegete, rejecting those distorted connotations that try to adapt the Law to human miseries and wills, as is the case with repudiation and adultery:

«[…] the hardness of your heart he wrote this standard for you. But from the beginning of creation he made them male and female; for this the man will leave his father and his mother and will unite with his wife and the two will become one flesh. WHO] but in the present, however, he is careful not to do it with the Supreme Pontiff Francis I, with which it is all sympathy, to the point of declaring itself "bergogliosa" [cf.. WHO] … I wonder why? Let's try to understand this through a recent interview with Alessandro Cecchi Paone on the Canale 9 by Peter Gomez, because that interview is a true paradigm. This famous reporter, first he replies to the interviewer by premising that he is a member of the highest echelons of Freemasonry, then he goes on to declare himself in favor of abortion, to euthanasia and homosexualism. All these statements interspersed with ejaculation: "Francis is a fantastic Pope" and "everything changed with him" [see fragment, WHO]. But they, they are really sure that the surreal Francis they invented is willing to bless Freemasonry? Of course, to the point that he made the Sovereign Order of Malta "commissioner" complaining that it was infiltrated by Freemasons and thundering that Freemasonry was incompatible with Catholicism [cf.. WHO]. Truly, the surreal Francesco they invented, would be willing to bless abortion? Of course, to the point of having declared that abortion is like hiring a hitman to kill an innocent [cf.. WHO]. Truly, they are sure that the surreal Francis they invented is willing to bless the socio-cultural exaltation of the active practice of homosexuality? Of course, to the point that speaking behind closed doors to all the Italian bishops he complained - that is, he reproached them - that the seminaries were full of homosexuals, stating in this regard that when in doubt it was better to give up a vocation rather than run the risk of admitting a homosexual to the seminary [cf.. Nor do they caciara in the talk show replacing in matters of theology and morals the trained priests who certainly do not found parties with a controlled Christian denomination but who are at the forefront to try to form and defend the people of God entrusted to them.

The style of the Gospel is the same as the mustard seed that germinates in smallness and in hiding to reveal itself capable of supporting the birds of the sky and giving shelter to the unfortunate. That is why I always feel a real sadness in noting that several Christians, some of which are engaged in parishes and convents, they stay with Littizzetto and share on Facebook the mocking prowess of the gianduiotta guitta, shown in video even on the page on-line of Famiglia Cristiana [cf.. WHO].

The question is simple, for us Christians, certain discourses or positions should not be seen in the dialectic of political conflict but of the paschal experience experienced on the living Christ, risen, who eats with his apostles and invites to touch him [cf.. meditation by Gabriele Giordano M. Scardocci, WHO].

Therefore dear Christians, refuse certain idea, ethical positions, political and social orientation means not indulging and taming the concupiscence that is the cause of sin. Instead we look for what is necessary, indeed the urgent, invoking that divine grace that moves the mountains of our sin, just as the Church teaches us to repeat in that beautiful invocation of the Liturgy of the Hours which opens every canonical hour: "Hate, come and save me, man, come to my aid soon ".

Hans Küng, presbyter and theologian (Sursee, 19 March 1928 - † Tubinga, 6 April 2021). Photo taken on the occasion of his 80th birthday

In journalistic jargon it is called “crocodile” the piece already written and placed in the drawer awaiting the death of the famous character. The archives of journalists are feet of crocodiles. Write a short piece, if anything, about a complex and controversial character, it is not easy. Having said this, I state that none of the Fathers de The Island of Patmos had a ready crocodile for the Swiss-German presbyter and theologian Hans Küng.

.

I have often made references to Hans Küng, recently also in a book of mine dedicated to two famous heretics of very small size: Kiko Argüello and Carmen Hernandez, the initiators of the Neocatechumenal Way, a veritable concentrate of returning heresies. All with a formal and substantial difference: heretics have always been superior and very brilliant minds, just think of an Arius or a Pelagius. Contrary to the two bohemians Spaniards who made even heresy expire, always the prerogative of the most sublime minds. And right in this book of mine called The sect Neocatechumenal. Heresy became Kiko and dwelt among us, I go back to using this famous theologian as a paradigm.

.

Giving a heretic to those who fall and remain in substantial and formal heresy it is not an insult, but a simple factual observation linked to the sphere of the doctrine of the faith. Or better understood: I know full-blown heretics who on the human level are people of rare amiability; and the same, on the ethical and moral level, they are people of impeccable conduct. Instead, I know just as many people, endowed with the purest and most orthodox doctrine, impeccable zealous theologians, with whom I try to avoid being in company for only ten minutes, so much do I consider them humanly unpleasant and sometimes even repellent.

.

Over the years, disserting on various theological themes I have frequently pointed out the Reverend Professor Hans Küng as a dangerous heretic, accusing him on several occasions of having carried out works of devastating demolition through the methodical de-structuring of some of the fundamental dogmas of the Catholic faith.

.

I have perhaps never stated and written that Hans Küng was a bad guy, a bad person or a mediocre unpleasant subject? Of course not! Hans Küng has always been a person of rare pleasantness, also naturally gifted with a physical appearance that made him look like an actor Hollywood, especially in the age group between fifty and sixty years, when natural beauty also combined the typical charm of mature men who have begun their journey towards old age in the best form. A beautiful figure therefore, masculine and charming, that had nothing to do with the figures of those priests and those theologians who in their physical appearance often appear as specks hovering between the androgynous, the asexual and the feminine.

Hans Küng was a true rising star of theology, with natural intellectual and speculative gifts and oratory and communicative qualities that other theologians did not have, among these his distinguished contemporary Joseph Ratzinger. Both were perished in the assembly of the Second Vatican Council between 1962 and the 1965, both in their early thirties, but with this difference: when Josef Ratzinger spoke, the listeners said to each other "this is a very good theologian", when instead Hans Küng spoke, listeners, in being deeply fascinated by his figure, from his oratory and his profound competence, they said to each other "this will reach who knows what levels in a few years".

.

The result of both is universally known: Hans Küng has become a speaker of heresies, Joseph Ratzinger became Metropolitan Archbishop of München, Prefect of the Congregation for the Doctrine of the Faith and later 265th successor of the Blessed Apostle Peter.

.

That I am on the ecclesial and doctrinal side of Joseph Ratzinger and not by Hans Küng, it cannot in any way induce me, for emotional irrational affection, to deny the evidence of the facts: Hans Küng, intellectually and speculatively he had natural qualities greater than those of Joseph Ratzinger very high. If in fact the first was by nature a genius, the second was an intelligent person gifted for theological studies. And the difference between a genius and an intelligent and gifted subject is truly remarkable. Then, with the passage of time, it happened that the first became a dangerous heretic and the second Supreme Pontiff [excerpt from from the cited work, pag. 43-44, I ed. Rome 2019, Editions The island of Patmos].

The damage that Hans Küng produced were remarkable, starting from a brilliant intelligence with all the higher abilities connected to it, used to damage the Church and the theological world. This is why the priests, those who still believe in God's judgment, to eternal life, to Paradise, in Hell and Purgatory - which is not at all obvious these days - they would do well to offer Holy Masses of suffrage for the soul of this brother of ours, who will surely need it very much.

Good Friday of the Year of the Lord 2021

When the Blessed Apostle Paul affirmed: "I have been crucified with Christ; it is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me " (Gal 2,20), in those who wondered the price he paid to reach this goal? The last was his blood price, when in Rome he was executed by beheading.

.

In one of his epistles the Blessed Apostle Peter admonishes us:

.

“You know how you were freed from that meaningless life you inherited from your fathers: the price of your ransom was not paid in gold or silver, things that pass; you have been redeemed with the precious blood of Christ. He sacrificed himself for you as a pure and spotless lamb. God had destined him for this even before the creation of the world; Now, in these times that are the last, he has manifested for you. And you, through him, believe in God who raised him from the dead and gave him glory. So your faith and your hope are directed towards God ". (The Pt 1, 18-21)

.

To announce these truths a whole series of presuppositions are needed which start first of all from the three theological virtues, which are faith, hope and charity (cf.. The Cor 13,13). But to announce the Holy Gospel of the dead Christ the Redeemer, resurrected and ascended to heaven, to recover the lost, wash the souls of sinners and support the afflicted, very material means are also needed; and not from today, but since the first apostolic age.

.

Someone might ask: between the many days of the year and the various holidays and solemnities, there was no day other than Good Friday, to ask help? Or maybe we are talking about money under the agonized cross of Christ? Yup, because in order to bring that redeeming blood to men we need means that are now increasingly scarce, even if our apostolic work is not simply intense, it is often exhausting.

The 2 April of 2020 the presbyter Antonio Livi returned to the Father's House, last exponent of the Roman School and co-founder of the magazine The Island of Patmos whose Fathers remember him in prayer on this Good Friday

As a starting point for this reflection let's take the Gospel of the Passion of St. John the Evangelist (18,1 – 19,42)

«Pilate then reentered the praetorium, he called Jesus and told him: “You are the king of the Jews?”. Jesus replied: “You say this for yourself, or have others told you about me?”. Pilate said: “Maybe I am a Jew? Your people and the chief priests have handed you over to me. What have you done?”. Jesus answered: “My kingdom is not of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have fought to keep me from being handed over to the Jews; but my kingdom is not from here ". Then Pilate said to him: “So you are king?”. Jesus answered: “You say it: I am a king. For this I was born and for this I came into the world: to bear witness to the truth. Whoever it belongs to the truth, listen to my voice ". Pilate tells him: "What is the truth?”».

There are so many memories that emerge from every Good Friday. A special day from a spiritual point of view, liturgical and, not at least, from a purely human point of view. I have memories of when as a child, in a country of Sabina where I always spent my holidays, one Good Friday I left the house alone and walked along the paths that led to the town's parish. You could go it alone, without any danger. It was three o'clock and like every Good Friday the old parish priest, always in his impeccable cassock, in his steady but sweet gaze he initiated the celebration of the Lord's Passion, wearing a gorgeous and dramatic red planet. With the lay brotherhood of the Good Death who attended and many faithful who filled the church and helped in the liturgy. It had to be the 1992. Not many years ago. I remember how that liturgy was filled with something different, of sacred, of what years later in theological studies I would have known with the name of Sacred and Totally Other.

I thank God for that Good Friday of 1992, when in silence I left the house and entered the church for that Liturgical Action. Because perhaps it was the first time that I realized on the skin of the great gift of love of Jesus. But beyond the memory of the first living and authentic encounter of the Christ suffering, today, which is no longer the 1992 and that I am a priest, albeit recently, that sense of Totally Other, to enter the drama of Jesus is even more vivid.

On this Good Friday I wish to dwell on the dialogue between Pilate and Jesus. This is due to a number of reasons. I believe that in the figure and in the words of the Roman administrator, there are a number of facets and themes that concern all of us believers of the Catholic Church. Clerics, religious and laity. Because Pilate somewhat embodies the man of today. All of us today can see something of ourselves in Pilate. Huge civil responsibilities, administrative, social. And above all a discernment on the moral choices to be made. In both cases there is always little, very little time to decide. Making a discernment always and in any case full of voices that follow one another, of false witnesses and half-truths. We are a little’ all Pilate that we try to find out something about Jesus. But let's see his words and the Lord's answers.

Pilate re-entered the praetorium, he called Jesus and told him: «You are the king of the Jews?». Jesus replied: "You say this to you, or have others told you about me?». The first word is a question for Jesus. To the letter it is a request for clarification of jurisdiction, to assess whether the man in front of him was actually taking the place of the Emperor. Pilate is aware of this. And he wants to go to the bottom. In this sense, he also wonders about the true nature of Jesus. The Roman administrator does not have the means to understand the mystery of Christ. He cannot understand neither the teachings nor the actions of that man who is accused. But he wants to understand what Jesus' true responsibility is. Pilate wants to understand what the place of Jesus is in his life. If you have to accept him as a man, as king or as someone else who still does not grasp.

Pilate is above all the figure of the seeker of God. By it I mean a person who is growing in faith, who questioned his own atheism; he has an attitude of one who often asks Jesus “Who are you?? You are the king?”. The seeker of God also wonders what Jesus wants from his life. If his teaching is a philosophy, an ideology or an authoritarian Word. This is why Jesus replies to Pilate and to every seeker of God “You say this on your own or you have been told about me?”. It is a continuous reminder that Jesus offers us. To abandon the personal mental patterns or our dominant culture. We seek God first of all with an open heart. In a lively and authentic and life changing Encounter.

Pilate said: «Maybe I am a Jew? Your people and the chief priests have handed you over to me. What have you done?». Jesus answered: «My kingdom is not of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my servants would have fought to keep me from being handed over to the Jews; but my kingdom is not from here ". The second word is a dry reply from Pilate. Seems a bit’ one of those things that are said just to mumble something in front of an unexpected phrase. But there is also a need to reflect on the fact that Pilate remembers that Jesus was handed over to him. As if the Roman administrator suddenly found himself in front of an unknown person of whom he knew nothing. Here is the difficult discernment to do. And this is a characteristic experience of the seeker of God. For him, as for all of us, Jesus is delivered and passed on by others. We rarely know him alone and never deepen his knowledge alone. There is always someone who talks to us about Jesus: culture, the family, friends… The seeker of God lives this search of his as a community. For believers, in the Church.

Finally Jesus replies that this is not his kingdom. It is neither of this world nor of here below. Another completely unexpected answer for anyone. So much so that now, Pilate, he has well understood that Christ is not playing hide and seek by leaving evasive words. He says something that escapes him. There is another kingdom, even stronger, more robust and solid even than the Roman Empire. There is a kingdom misunderstood by the members of the Sanhedrin who led Jesus to the authorities and the Romans. There is another kingdom, even stronger, more robust and solid even than the Roman Empire, intent on worshiping Augustus and the pagan Pantheon. Thus Jesus also today shakes the seeker of God. He tells him there is something that goes beyond immanence, political domination and money. There is a kingdom of Trinitarian light, that escapes human logic. Even the most believing and devoted of Catholics, undertakes to enter into this perspective of light. But this is really difficult for anyone, so much so that Pilate, he is now without words, he replies. At that point she told him: "So you are a king?». Jesus answered: "You say: I am a king. For this I was born and for this I came into the world: to bear witness to the truth. Whoever it belongs to the truth, hears my voice ". Yes finally here is the revelation: Jesus is the king, but it is true of truth and charity. For this, to be a witness, martyr of truth was incarnated. This is how Christmas is also fulfilled, celebrated in the middle of winter. In the spring of the world, the spring of man begins. In Jesus Christ: listening to his voice it is possible to make the soul and the human spirit flourish. I'm not Augusto, Socrates or the philosophical schools to renew and give power to man: only the search for the Truth and the Power of Love of Charity, in welcoming Jesus who suffers from the Passion, they offer the definitive answer to the seeker of God.

The closing of this passage from the Holy Gospel of John it is truly emblematic for our time: Pilate tells him: "What is truth?». This is the question of all of us. A question that, despite the constant prayer, continuous meditation, the continuous dialogue with God, always comes back. St. Augustine, commenting on this passage, however, he was able to tell us what Jesus' silent response is. In Latin: What is truth? It can be anagram as an answer: It is the man who is present. Yet the answer to the question "What is truth?Would really be the simplest: "The truth is the man you have in front of you”.

This is the final goal. The seeker of God finally finds a solution. Real, authentic concrete. That man who suffers out of love for all humanity. His, it's the truth. On this Good Friday, let us adore the cross to commemorate all this, because it is on the cross that the truth is found, which is the answer to Pilate's question and to our question.
