I learned from the opening of the beatification process of a little heretic of the twentieth century, Carmen Hernandez Barrera (Olvega, 24 November 1930 – Madrid, 19 July 2016), co-initiator with Kiko Argüello of the worst para-Catholic and heterodox movement in the history of the twentieth century: the Neocatechumenal Way. On the occasion of the commemoration of the dead, an acquaintance who is an undertaker sought me out with urgency and trembling to ask me for guidance. He was very scared, the poor thing, after repeatedly hearing noises in the cemetery from two tombs inside which rest the mortal remains of two holy priests: the Servant of God Pier Carlo Lad, Roman presbyter, ed Enrico Zoffoli, Roman presbyter of the Passionist Order. To candidates for beatification a proven miracle is required, except for the martyrs, because the Church already considers martyrdom a miracle in itself linked to the action of God's grace. Well, I investigated further and discovered that the scientific commission appointed by the Metropolitan Archdiocese of Madrid has already subjected the miracle that would have occurred through the intercession of this candidate for beatification to the scrutiny of the most distinguished European clinicians and urologists..

The miraculous man is called Armando Bronca Segura, a young man from Madrid of the age of 25 year old. The best of European clinical science was unanimous in declaring that there is no scientific explanation for the fact. Luigi Amicone (Milan, 4 October 1956 – Monza, 19 October 2021)

Thursday 21 October Luigi Amicone's funeral took place in the cathedral church of Monza, died just 65 year old. In front of him he could have another twenty years of life to live, according to today's statistics on the average life span of the Italian man, which are not few. His death was announced to me early in the morning, Tuesday 19, by a confrere of the Diocese of Milan, raised in the ranks of Communion and Liberation, the Movement founded by the Ambrosian presbyter Luigi Giussani.

With his sudden disappearance Luigi led me to reflect on the relationship of contemporary society to death. And note: it is not, this mine, a process of intentions, which would also be a serious contradiction in terms with my theological training and with my previous and now distant juridical training. It is simply a fact, you just need to know the televisions, the editorial offices of newspapers and especially those who work within them.

No, naive souls, certain themes do not arise from the desire to defend the rights of the weak, everything arises only from pure and cold criteria dictated by the ratings. This makes Alessandro Cecchi Paone a genuine liberal, with whom I could speak with serenity about everything that divides us in the different human feeling, but to which I am united by something which unites even men with the most diverse thoughts: respect for the freedom of the other, which for him is the cornerstone of Liberalism, for me it is the very suffix of the creation of man, created by God free and endowed with free will.
