«I am Roberto Bolle, not a chicken scratching in the hen house ". Those depressed and depressing Catholics who lock morals inside a condom and who consider sex as the center of the whole mystery of evil

- The Theological Pages -

«I AM ROBERTO BOLLE, NOT A CHICKEN BREAKING IN THE CHICKEN HOUSE ". THOSE DEPRESSED AND DEPRESSED CATHOLICS WHO ENCLOSE MORALS WITHIN A CONDOM AND WHO CONSIDER SEX AS THE CENTER OF THE ENTIRE MYSTERY OF EVIL

.

Someone sends me this message: "As promised compatibly with my commitments, I proceeded to make a video in response to his heterodox statements on contraception. Convinced that he personally knows what is sound doctrine and therefore to be considered and what to discard. It will certainly be useful to the many faithful who have followed us for years and who have the obligation to know the truth on matters of such importance ". For my part I want to clarify that if a layman accuses of heresy on the public square of social media a minister in sacred and a theologian, it is at least necessary to defend one's dignity as a priest and as a scholar from the false accusations of a subject who has proved himself to be an amateur theologian.

Everything will be fine, or else everything contributes to the good in God's plans? the pandemic, it was perhaps a precious lost lesson?

- ecclesial news -

EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE, OR EVERYTHING IS A COMPETITION IN THE PLAN OF GOD? THE PANDEMIC, A PRECIOUS LOST LESSON MAYBE?

.

"Everything will be fine". No, did not go, it is not going and everything will not magically go well; who just says "everything will be fine", without founding his hope in God, the illusion that the pandemic is a simple parenthesis, after which she can return to her former life, to the world before, as if nothing had happened. No. It won't be all right, because instead of taking the opportunity of the pandemic to get back into yourself, to realize once and for all that we are mortal, abandon sin and convert to good, go back to God and stop trusting in man in vain, one continues as and more than before to forget God and sin against him.

… Everything will be fine

Through the Apostle Saint Paul the Holy Spirit reveals this comforting news to us:

.

«We know that everything contributes to good, for those who love God, for those who have been called according to his plan " [RM 8, 28].

.

St. Paul states: «Everything contributes to good», "all", also what many men consider misfortunes; but this is possible only because the Son of God had compassion on us poor men ruined by sin, devoted to eternal perdition: for us sinful and lost men the Word of God is incarnated, for us sinful and lost men Jesus the Redeemer sacrificed himself on the cross, for us sinful and lost men Christ God is risen, to us who believe in him the Living has given the Holy Spirit. So no one is more optimistic than we Christians and we Christians can never be desperate, because we are the only ones in the world to have a well-founded hope that never disappoints.

.

The maximum example of Christian optimism and we have the strength of Christian hope in the Good Thief: finished on the cross as a result of his life spent in sin, just at the last moment he accepted the divine grace of conversion and forgiveness, recognizing in Jesus Christ his King and Savior; the cross - supreme misfortune - became the hitherto evil villain the right opportunity to finally become good and, immediately after death, go with Jesus to triumph in Paradise. If he hadn't been crucified, the thief would not have saved his soul.

.

«Everything contributes to good», Certain, but only "for those who love God", not for those who don't fear it, they despise and hate him; indeed, the other Thief who was crucified with Jesus was bad and wanted to stay bad and, after dead, went to hell, because he did not love God and on the cross he wasted the little breath he had left to insult Jesus.

.

«Everything contributes to good»; to a shallow ear, these divinely inspired words seem quite similar to other words that in this time of pandemic we often heard parrot more or less repeat: "Everything will be fine".

.

The Pauline concept "Everything contributes to the good" and the slogan of the last few months "Everything will be fine": they seem two equivalent ways to say the same thing, but it is not true. It would be enough to ask ourselves: "It will be all right" ... and why? Just say "everything will be fine", without adding anything else, without appealing to God, it means trusting only in man, expect salvation not from the only one who can give it to us, ie God, but by man. Indeed, one of the popular songs, recently trumpeted by commercial advertising, obsessively screams: "I believe in humans!». Does not say: "I believe in God"", but «I believe in human beings!». This is the great blasphemy of our time: put man in God's place. And yes the Holy Scripture, already in the Old Testament, he claims: "Damn the man who trusts in the man, who places his support in the flesh and his heart moves away from the Lord » [Gives 17, 5]. And so, the pandemic comes and, instead of seeking the help of the Lord and the salvation of the soul and body that only he can give us, he "trusts in man" and in his impotences, with the disastrous results we experience on our skin, deluding ourselves and deluding ourselves with the motto: "Everything will be fine". No, not everything went well, especially for the many, too many deaths suffocated by the virus in intensive care, spiral to salt, without sacraments, without the comforting presence of loved ones, the bodies of which were immediately piled up and burned, without a rag of funeral, without a prayer, without an autopsy that would have helped understand better and better how to help the sick, without waiting for the physical aggravation then unacceptable.

.

Net of political propaganda, it is not going well at all from an economic and work and cultural point of view and the future prospects are already increasingly bleak in the short term.

.

"Everything will be fine"; Sara! But in the meantime, for fear of dying, we supinely accepted the limitation of all personal freedom, the de facto suspension of democracy; for fear of no longer being able to live physically, we are reduced to surviving, that is, we have reduced ourselves to nothing but postponing physical death, that sooner or later will come for everyone anyway. Mind you: I am not saying that we have done wrong to take some of the personal and social precautions taken to avoid the spread of the infection. I say that - in the face of danger - just say "Everything will be fine" and that's it, without adding anything else, without appealing to God, it is something that manifests a sterile and unreasonable optimism of the completely unfounded will. Beyond the subjective intentions - which I do not judge because only God knows them - try to reassure myself with the blows of «Everything will be fine» and that's it, it resembles the superstitious practices of those who think of removing the evil eye from themselves through apotropaic gestures, that is, making horns, touching iron, reading the horoscope, etc, etc … And it has the same effectiveness, that is, none.

.

"Everything will be fine". No, did not go, it is not going and everything will not magically go well; who just says "everything will be fine", without founding his hope in God, the illusion that the pandemic is a simple parenthesis, after which she can return to her former life, to the world before, as if nothing had happened. No. It won't be all right, because instead of taking the opportunity of the pandemic to get back into yourself, to realize once and for all that we are mortal, abandon sin and convert to good, go back to God and stop trusting in man in vain, one continues as and more than before to forget God and sin against him.

.

No, it won't be all right, because during the pandemic on the balconies and windows the signs drawn with the rainbow of the 'appearedEverything will be fine, not the Crucifixes and Madonnas. E, since the beginning of the pandemic, our churches are even more empty than before, even on Sunday.

.

No, it's not going to be all right, because Masses and other sacraments were suspended too easily, as if they were unimportant things, rather, everything was done to convince people that churches would be the most dangerous place for health, or even that, receive Holy Communion, is a kind of health hazard. Instead, massing in shopping malls, in supermarkets and bars, that's fine, because it only matters to satisfy bodily needs!

.

Saying "everything will be fine", should imply that "the pandemic will also contribute to our true good", but only if we realize that, even the pandemic, it is a clear warning, by God at least allowed, to call everyone back to conversion and repentance. It is the Gospel that authorizes us to say this. The man who had been paralyzed for good 38 year old, after being instantly healed by Jesus at the Probative Pool in Jerusalem, she heard him say it: «Here you are healed; sin no more, so that something worse doesn't happen to you » [GV 5, 14]. Stay paralyzed for good 38 years would seem one of the biggest misfortunes that can happen, yet Jesus says there is something far worse, that is, the eternal damnation of the soul. Said in an updated way: there, the worst of the infection seems to have passed; but don't sin anymore, because something worse doesn't happen to you.

.

Always Jesus, in the Gospel he warns: «Those eighteen, above which Siloam fell tower fell, You believe that they were worse offenders than all the inhabitants of Jerusalem? No, I tell you, but unless you repent, all perish in the same way » [LC 14, 4 – 5]. Said in updated form: those who died from the pandemic, believe that they were more guilty than all the inhabitants of Italy? No, I tell you, but unless you repent, you will all perish equally. And then nothing would have been worth repeating obsessively: "Everything will be fine", without adding anything else.

.

«Everything contributes to good, for those who love God ". Indeed, who loves God and puts him first in his thoughts, in his words, in his works, also knows how to take advantage of the pandemic, by doing penance for one's sins and loving God and neighbor even more for God's sake, putting all his confidence not in mortal man, but only in God and demonstrating his faith in eternal life through words and deeds.

.

«Everything contributes to good, for those who love God ". The man who, inspired by the Holy Spirit, wrote these immortal words, that is, the Apostle Saint Paul, he knew exactly what he said; after his prodigious conversion, his life was marred by countless and terrible trials, some of which he himself remembers:

.

«Five times from the Jews I have received the thirty-nine blows [that is, I was scourged almost to death]; three times I was beaten with rods, I was once stoned, three times I was wrecked, I spent a day and a night at the mercy of the waves. Countless trips, river hazards, brigands dangers, dangers from my countrymen, dangers from the pagans, dangers in the city, dangers in the desert, dangers on the sea, dangers from false brothers; fatigue and labor, vigils without number, hungry and thirsty, frequent fasting, cold and nakedness » [2Color 11, 24 – 27].

.

In the midst of all this, the Apostle Saint Paul did not waver in faith, did not lose hope, charity was not lost; indeed he endured everything in a Christian way, as an opportunity to do penance for the serious sins committed before his conversion and to grow in the love of God and spend oneself for the eternal salvation of one's neighbor. For this reason he remained indomitable and faithful until the end, in the last imprisonment suffered because of the Gospel, on the threshold of death by beheading, he wrote:

.

«I fought the good fight, I finished the race, I kept the faith. Now I have only the crown of righteousness left that the Lord, the right judge, will deliver me on that day; not just me, but also to all those who have looked forward to its manifestation with love " [2TM 4, 7 – 8].

.

San Paolo was not the type he says at all: "Everything will be fine", or "I believe in humans". St. Paul says: «Everything contributes to good, for those who love God "and" I know who I believed in " [2TM 1, 12].

.

In some passages of the Holy Scriptures, the Book of Kings [3, 5. 7 – 12] and the Gospel of the Evangelist Saint Matthew [13, 44 – 52] they warn us and invite us to be wise, that is, to love God with all of ourselves, ready to sacrifice everything else - including us - for Him, therefore to love one's neighbor for the love of God, thus also loving ourselves, that is, worrying about our eternal salvation:

.

«Every scribe, become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven, is like a landlord who extracts new and old things from his treasure » [Mt 13, 56].

.

The Christian, pervaded by divine wisdom, also knows how to profit spiritually from the pandemic, because he puts his faith in his hope in God and not foolishly in men, so that for him "everything contributes to the good".

The excommunicated priest Alessandro Minutella is not a dishonest but a sick person and his illness is called “acute schizophrenia”

- ecclesial news -

THE EXCELLENT PRIEST ALESSANDRO MINUTELLA IS NOT A DISHONEST BUT A SICK AND HIS DISEASE IS CALLED "ACUTE SCHIZOPHRENIA"

.

None of us, The Island of Patmos like the agency Correspondence Romana and various other priests and theologians who have paid attention to this serious clinical case to protect the health of the souls he harms, he wishes and is pleased to deal with this subject. However, we all have two moral obligations: the correct Catholic information and above all the health of those souls that this schizophrenic is guiding towards a precipice. For this I repeat, to those who listen and follow him, to go and see the official speeches and videos in which the words of the Supreme Pontiff are recorded, because anyone will be able to ascertain in what serious way, mischievous but above all sick, Alessandro Minutella imputes to the Successor of the Blessed Apostle Peter what he has never said.

the psychiatrist Paolo Pancheri [Milan 1938 – Rome 2007], full professor of psychiatry at the La Sapienza University of Rome and Italian father of biological psychiatry

Take care of the Alessandro Minutella case it bothers me enormously, for this I would not do it. But if I do it, it is because in these days I have been reached by the messages of numerous people asking for light from the Fathers de The Island of Patmos on the latest shots of this psychiatric case report, especially about his video titled: «If Francis is the Pope, Jesus has deceived us» [see video, WHO].

.

A friend in particular it was a great help in analyzing the case: an Italian-Swiss psychiatrist who before becoming director of a Swiss psychiatric clinic that deals with patients with severe schizophrenia, for several years he was assistant to Prof. Paolo Pancheri [Milan 1938 - Rome 2007], that I myself knew in my youth, because friend of two of my Roman aunts.

.

Paolo Pancheri, neuropsychiatrist, he was the Italian father of biological psychiatry, branch that studies the biological elements of human behavior. His research studies on psycho-pharmacology aimed at cure were innovative, but more than anything else to the containment of subjects suffering from serious disorders for which any form of psychotherapy was completely useless.

.

This Swiss specialist, student of Paolo Pancheri at the University Wisdom From Rome, where the distinguished clinician was ordinary at the chair of psychiatry, he followed in his footsteps and carried out various researches, especially in the psycho-pharmacological field, collaborating with several pharmaceutical research laboratories on the latest generation of psychiatric drugs for subjects suffering from severe schizophrenia.

.

From what it is deduced that Alessandro Minutella is suffering from acute schizophrenia? This distinguished Swiss specialist who has viewed several of his videos explained it with scientific rigor, detailing how, schizophrenia, in severe cases create an alteration of cognitive and perceptual behavioral functions. The severe schizophrenic is subject to delusions and hallucinations that lead him to live in a state of alteration and dissociation from reality. For the schizophrenic, what is born of his subjective reality is "true" and "real", up to the clear denial of the fact. On a clinical-scientific level, the most serious cases of schizophrenia were always those of subjects who externalize their psychopathologies through the religious element, by virtue of which their ailments end up having a sort of supernatural "consecration"; and anyone who contradicts them, it is an enemy of divine power, an emissary of the devil and so on.

.

Schizophrenic can be very dangerous when he manages to identify and catch some particular discontent that pervade the masses and that are the result of social and political situations of crisis, or, as in our case, of a state of grave decline in the ecclesial and ecclesiastical world. A quel point, the schizophrenic, takes as its starting point real objective data and then manipulates them, until it turns into a dangerous mass driver, or small masses made up of discontented personalities, burdened by psychological frailties and difficulties in relating to the objective data, to the extent of lacking an adequate reactive spirit towards real problems.

.

Alessandro Minutella has always complained - last in serial order he did it with my friend Roberto de Mattei due to an article that appeared on the Agency Correspondence Romana on May 11 2020 [see WHO], previously also with my brother priest Francesco Maria Marino, of the Order of Preaching Friars and various others … well, he has always complained: «Nobody agrees to confront me on the merits». Lie, pure and simple lie. In fact, the exact opposite is true: we would all be happy to be able to say and demonstrate in the face, in front of an audience, that what he calls "merit" are falsehoods constructed through manipulation and that his theological preparation is, to say the least, incomplete and embarrassing. So he lies in a shameless way stating that everyone escapes the confrontation with this excellent theologian. Indeed, to the proven proof of the facts, I myself dedicated to him an almost hour-long video conference entitled "From Friar Cipolla to Alessandro Minutella, that is: when the satire of Boccaccio's high literature changes instead into a grotesque comedy and the ruin of souls " [see WHO], where with surgical precision and impeccable Aristotelian logic and good philosophy of common sense I indicated mystifications, the lies and alterations of the reality of Alessandro Minutella, that he never replied. Afterwards, in several of his neuro-video-delusions, he tried to belittle my person, for example stating that I was not a theologian, that I was not a scholar, that I had no academic qualifications, reaffirming that he had two doctorates instead, repeating obsessively-compulsively: «… two doctorates ... I have two doctorates ... ", then adding that "this priest" or the undersigned "has no title to speak with me that I have two doctorates, I have two doctorates ... ".

.

Obviously I never fell into his provocation, also because I don't have to justify to a schizophrenic what my training was and what they were, above all, my teachers, three of which in particular made history in the field of theological speculation in the Catholic Church of the twentieth century. In that detailed video of mine I limited myself to asking the schizophrenic and his Pecore Belanti: of when, wisdom and science, they depend on the academic papers, or from doctorates? However, that place, for thirty years now, in Roman pontifical universities, doctoral degrees in sacred theology are pulled behind even armies of people who have serious gaps not on theology, but precisely on the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Reason why, several authentic and talented theologians who have obtained degrees in these institutions, they never mention these universities or their qualifications, Why, evaluating their current state, they are ashamed of having studied you and of having obtained unnecessary academic papers. All unlike this schizophrenic who claims to be a great expert on the thought of the famous theologian Hans Urs von Balthasar, in which, however, he seems to ignore that the eminent Swiss theologian never obtained a theological doctorate, because he graduated in German Studies and Philosophy from a secular state university. E, before being consecrated priest in the Society of Jesus, from which he later resigned to join the secular clergy of the Diocese of Chur, he only did the basic theological studies necessary for sacred priestly ordination.

.

Having then several times, the schizophrenic, the Venerable Father Divo Barsotti is also named - whom I have known as proven and documented, so I know who he was and especially how he was - he was asked if this other great personality had a title to speak with a bi-doctor like him, given that the Father, not only did he never obtain any specialization degree and least of all a theological doctorate, but he had never even taken the paper of the basic title of primary theological studies, that he had done in a provincial seminary, exactly as most of the priests of the time did. To all this series of disputes based on historical facts and evidence, the schizophrenic has always and rigorously postponed and, although sensationally and publicly denied, he never replied, continuing to be the victim by stating: «... nobody wants to confront me .... nobody wants to talk to me ... I have two doctorates ... I have two doctorates ... ».

.

In his latest neuro-video-delusion, the schizophrenic returns to impute things of an unprecedented gravity to the reigning Pontiff. And these are unheard of things to the extent that they are totally false, but presented as true by this serious clinical case. And so, for the umpteenth time, he accuses the Roman Pontiff of heresy and apostasy by faith by accusing him of having defined "silly stuff», that is nonsense, Marian dogmas, to have denied the immaculate conception of the Blessed Virgin Mary and the divinity of Christ the Incarnate Word of God.

.

Well: we all formally challenge how much uselessly this seriously ill patient - who as such is not responsible for his words and affirmations, as the result of his illness defined by psychiatry as acute schizophrenia -, to demonstrate where and when, the Supreme Pontiff, he denied the Marian dogmas and the divinity of the incarnate Word of God. Let us decide once and for all to publicly present the text of the official speech, or the movie in which the Roman Pontiff, which is always and in practice recorded in his official speeches, clearly and precisely asserts similar and serious heresies, to the point of denying the Marian dogmas and defining them "nonsense".

.

The truth is that this schizophrenic takes fragments of speeches, he manipulates them and then attributes to the Supreme Pontiff what he has never said. E, to put it all together, he serves himself, as well as manipulation, also of the actual process of intentions, for example accusing the Supreme Pontiff of not believing in the real presence of Christ the living and true God in the Most Holy Eucharistic Species.

.

None of us, The Island of Patmos like the agency Correspondence Romana and various other priests and theologians who have paid attention to this serious clinical case to protect the health of the souls he harms, he wishes and is pleased to deal with this subject. However, we all have two moral obligations: the correct Catholic information and above all the health of those souls that this schizophrenic is guiding towards the precipice. And anyone who has no serious problems with reality and perception of reality, can only say: Alessandro Minutella extrapolates words totally out of context, it falsifies them, so mind e, telling the fake, imputed to the Supreme Pontiff, with ferocious hatred, insulting and aggressive, what he never said, what never left even vaguely understood between the lines with double meanings or ambiguities.

.

Alessandro Minutella should therefore be transferred as soon as possible, for his greatest good, from her Little Nazareth to one Little Neuro, where it can be treated with adequate drug therapies, the only ones able to sort, in his serious and unfortunately irreversible case, some possible beneficial effect, that means: the administration of powerful latest generation neuroleptics produced by neuropsychiatric research laboratories.

The three synoptic Gospels of the Beati Evangelisti Marco, Matteo and Luca, have different characteristics, just like the symbolism with which the Evangelists have been depicted since the early Middle Ages, which came to life at the end of the fifth century with the fall of the Roman Empire.

.

Matthew the Evangelist it is depicted with the image of the winged man, because its editing begins with the genealogy of Christ the Lord and Messiah; the Blessed Evangelist Mark with the winged lion, because its editing begins with the narration of the preaching of the Precursor, Blessed John known as the Baptist, who preached in the desert, place inhabited by wild beasts; the Blessed Evangelist Luca with the ox, because its editing begins with the vision had by Zacharias in the Temple of Jerusalem, where animals were sacrificed, among which also oxen.

.

The authors of the three synoptic Gospels they follow a similar pattern and narrate the same events of the life of Christ God, despite their stylistic differences. Finally the so-called Fourth Gospel, that of Blessed Evangelist John, depicted with the image of an animal considered at the time the most noble of all the species on earth: the Eagle, she who alone could stare at the sunlight with open eyes.

.

The Gospel of Blessed John the Evangelist, which opens with a hymn to the mystery of the incarnation of the Word of God - "And the Word became flesh" - is an admirable hymn in the light of Christ true God and true man, pictured below as a living sun descending from heaven. To Blessed Evangelista Giovanni, defined by the great Fathers and doctors of the Church as the theologian par excellence, the motto is accompanied «Higher than the rest of the revealed secret» [higher than the others - John - he revealed the arcane mysteries of God].

.

A characteristic of the Gospel of Blessed Evangelista Matteo it is the narrative precision from which the figure of the historical Jesus takes shape, connected by him to numerous old-testamentary references. The whole, to testify that Christ had not come to earth to abolish the Law and the Prophets, but to fulfill [cf.. Mt 5, 17-20]. And the fulfillment was Him, the God made man, the light that shines in the darkness, as the Evangelist John defines it in his prologue, the "God from God light from Light", as the Church Fathers defined it by writing in the Councils of Nicea and Constantinople the I believe that we will soon recite. Or the Christ the whole, as Saint Augustine called it, that totality in which Christ God is the center, the beginning and the ultimate end of our entire humanism.

.

So four personalities of different men, each illuminated by divine grace, who announce the mystery with fixed and timeless words, because as Christ God reveals through the story of the Blessed Evangelist Matthew: «The heavens and the earth will pass away, but my words will never go away " [Mt 24, 32-35], because they are fixed forever through the mystery of passion, the death and resurrection of Christ, God, in the glorious body of which the signs of passion are still impressed; eternal sign of his love consumed for the redemption of man until the torture of the cross, changing the Word that became flesh in the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world.

.

And with this we have reached the heart of this Holy Gospel of the Blessed Evangelist Matthew in which Christ the Lord offers us something terrible: «Whoever does not take his cross and follow me, not worthy of me " [see Liturgy of the Word on this thirteenth Sunday of ordinary time, WHO].

.

Today more than ever it escapes, even to us consecrated, the sacrificial element of the true experience of faith. For some time now we have created what we could define as a restaurant menu Christianity you enter, you read the card and choose what you like. And so to dominate it is the worst of the emotionality animated by human selfishness. It is the tragedy of faith watered down by little heart that beats, for example, in front of the tender, poignant popular images of the Child Jesus during Holy Christmas, unaware, however, that this is only the beginning of a path that then comes in the pain of the Garden of Olives, to continue with the immense torment of the painful way and the crucifixion.

.

Faith is sacrifice, but many have turned it into a worldly right to what I like. Here then are the Catholics who on the one hand call themselves such, on the other, they declare themselves in favor of abortion, or who say "... it is right that two men live together if they love each other, because what matters is love, indeed it is right to give him even a child for adoption ». And here we should clarify what love is and what is not what some call love. As there are other Catholics who claim that it is right, indeed it is charitable to practice euthanasia for a terminally ill patient, why let him suffer? It is inhuman. And to these latter I answered: “Maybe you don't know what the torture of a crucifixion is, but if you talk to an anatomo-pathologist, he will explain to you the pain and also the humiliating reactions that such torture generated in the body of the condemned exposed naked to the sight of all. Well, it seems to you that the Blessed Virgin Mary pleaded to end the sufferings of her Divine Son?».

.

Today we have created a monstrous society chasing a false happiness in which life is without disease and without physical decay; youth without old age and life without death. In this way, a society of the unreal has been created that rejects Christ, or a Catholic community that dilutes the message of Christ who invites us to assimilate to his pain. At that point the same Holy Mass is confused with a meeting between friends who get together to celebrate, to rejoice around the table. Yet it would be enough to listen to the words of the sacred liturgy to understand that through the mystery of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ the divine memorial of the passion is renewed., Death and Resurrection, because the Eucharist is the living and holy sacrifice ... and when I go to the altar, I'm not going to have a joyful party, but I go up to Mount Calvary, because on the altar the bloodless sacrifice of the passion of Christ God is renewed.

.

The Holy Father Giovanni Paolo II wrote in 1984 a splendid apostolic letter on the occasion of the Jubilee of the Redemption entitled Saving pain, what does it mean: the salvific value of suffering. At the time,, the future Holy Pontiff had just 62 year old, he was a sporty man full of energy. Why that Letter dedicated to the salvific value of suffering written by a man who seemed the portrait of beauty and health? Well, we think of John Paul II not of 1984, but to that of 2000, when he persisted in kneeling before the Blessed Sacrament even though he was exhausted by the disease, trembling and without strength, with the papal master of ceremonies sweating around him when he wanted to genuflect in every way, obsequious to the end of the warning of the Blessed Apostle Paul "in the name of Jesus every knee should bend in the heavens, on earth and under the earth " [Fil 2, 10]. John Paul II understood immediately, in the splendor of his health, long before his illness, the saving element of pain that assimilates us to the cross of Christ ...

.

… When I was consecrated a priest, kneeling before the bishop I received the sacred chalice and paten with these words: "Receive the oblation of the holy people for the Eucharistic sacrifice. Understand what you will do, imitate what you celebrate. Conform your life to the mystery of the cross of Christ the Lord ". I was not told ... now go to party with joyful friends around the canteen among guitarists, dances and tambourines. In essence I was told: now go up to Mount Calvary and through your sacrifice conform yourself to the sacrifice of Christ. This, it is the essence of our faith and, if we really want to follow it, we must be aware - as it is written in the Gospel of Blessed Evangelist Luke - there is no other path than the one indicated by Christ himself: "If anyone wants to come after me, you deny yourself, take up his cross every day and follow me " [LC 9, 22-25].

.

... but how would it be to say pain ... cross ... Christianity is love, it is joy! Of course, it is the love of Christ who died on the cross for our salvation and is the joy of the resurrection of the Word of God made man and ascended into heaven who sits today at the right hand of the Father; Christianity is the joy of that resurrection to which we are assimilated, because as we recite in the III Eucharistic Prayer when we remember the dead: "He will transform our mortal body in the image of his glorious body". This, it is Christianity, all the rest, to paraphrase the Book of Qoelet which said "vanity of vanity", it is only emotionality of emotionality. E, between faith and emotionality, the difference is profoundly substantial, because in the middle there is that cross that the superficial emotional does not want and that runs away to live a false faith from a restaurant menu, while the man of true faith is called instead to conform his life to the cross of Christ: "He who does not take his cross and follow me, not worthy of me " [Mt 10, 38].

Jesus Christ be praised!

“Hospitality” as a secret space to be opened to God to become a place of donation

Homiletics of the Fathers of The Island of Patmos

“HOSPITALITY” AS A SECRET SPACE TO OPEN TO GOD WHY BECOME A PLACE OF DONATION

Jesus speaks of the welcome of a prophet and a just man. Who knows how to welcome them means that he is the first and just prophet. He says this because Jesus is the welcoming person par excellence and in turn wants to be welcomed into our lives. This causes us to receive Jesus who is the gift par excellence. So we are able to give ourselves and love, like He did, carrying our crosses, in the most difficult and complex moments of our life.

Dear brothers and sisters,

Rome, 28 June 2019, Santa Maria Sopra Minerva, Gabriele Giordano Maria Scardocci, o.p. he is consecrated priest

a few years ago I read the story of the Secret Garden of the writer Frances Hodgson Burnett. It's Annie's story, a little girl who, on an English estate, casually discovers a garden, whose existence nobody knows, because it was made secret due to a tragic story. That garden, once opened to Annie's eyes it becomes a welcoming place, of growth and maturation.

.

Similarly, in today's readings [see Liturgy of the Word, WHO], the Lord speaks to us first of all about welcoming a secret space to be opened to God, so that it becomes a fruitful place of donation. In the Book of Kings we read:

.

«I know that he is a man of God, a saint, the one who always passes by us. We make a small upper room, masonry, let's put a bed, a table, a chair and a candlestick » [2Re 4, 9-10].

.

In this first reading, unnamed wife and husband open their home in Elisha, therefore as if they opened a space between him and God. Elisha prays and then prophesies; so comes a son for them, unexpected, and in a sense almost desperate. Husband and wife open up to God then experience God's intervention. So they are the first to be open and somehow fruitful.

.

This is beauty of when we also open a space for God and for those who send us. This also happens today, for all of us, if we know how to open our heart and our intimacy to God's plan, it will really fill us with unexpected gifts, of an unexpected hundredfold, of friendships and joys we never expected. So, from the acceptance of God's plan for us, a fruitful being comes. Saint Paul writes:

.

«By means of baptism therefore we were buried with him in death so that, like Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, so we too can walk in a new life " [RM 6, 4].

.

Fertilization is expressed by Paul just in the new life we live, starting with Baptism. In fact, from Baptism onwards, the Lord has taken up residence, has filled the space of our soul, allowing us to walk on a path of new life, to glory, therefore until we are with Him in Paradise. Baptism is fruitful new life, because it allows all of us to be freed from original sin and filled with baptismal character, by the grace and gifts of the Holy Spirit. Thus also our spiritual life becomes fruitful, because by virtue of baptism we live the liturgy and a personal prayer with which we ask for intercession for the other baptized. Therefore, fertility comes from acceptance, and from fertility comes the gift of self. In the gospel we read:

.

«Whoever welcomes you welcomes me, and whoever welcomes me welcomes the one who sent me. Whoever welcomes a prophet because he is a prophet, will have the reward of the prophet, and whoever welcomes a just because he is a just, will have the reward of the just " [Mt 10, 40-41].

.

So we are able to give ourselves and love, like He did, carrying our crosses, in the most difficult and complex moments of our life.

.

The reward of the righteous it is then the imitation of Jesus in a greater love, till death, an imitation that after death will lead him to rise again with Christ himself.

.

Voltaire wrote "Originality is nothing more than judicious imitation".

.

Lord, give us the courage to imitate you in the decisive choices, the strength to open a space at the bottom of the heart, the tenderness of giving ourselves like you in the Trinity to love until the end.

Amen.

Only if we let ourselves be loved by God, without easy optimisms and dangerous determinisms, "everything will be fine"

- the Church and the serious emergency coronavirus -

ONLY IF WE LOVE GOD, WITHOUT EASY OPTIMISMS AND DANGEROUS DETERMINISMS, "EVERYTHING WILL BE FINE"

.

Everything will be fine, but for whom? After each epidemic, war or earthquake has always gone well? We are sure of it? Only after several years and at the cost of losses and sacrifices, not without those corruption situations that distinguish situations of social destabilization, everything went fine.

the photo is a hoax [see WHO] but the image itself could make the idea tragically …

My role as a priest requires me - with great sacrifice - to continually discern reality, starting from the Word of Christ and leaving out the word of the world. This means learning to stay within a history of salvation that has Christ as its origin and fulfillment, instead of getting lost behind self-produced mirages of salvation that promptly reveal all the limits and inefficiencies of the case. And when I speak of salvation, I am referring to the one par excellence: the integral salvation that has become revelation and that embraces the body and spirit of man.

.

I want to start by analyzing an expression which in the past weeks of quarantine has become the leitmotiv of coronavirus resistance in Italy. On closer inspection, I find it on the border between the low psychology of optimism and the melancholy sense of civicism. Needless to say, it contained little Christian. And the expression to which I refer - and which I find out of place - is the following: "everything will be fine". There would also be another that says "it's my responsibility", but the first already gives enough material for critical reflection.

.

"Everything will be fine" it is a human expression suggested by the emergency that we experienced and which seems not to have ended - also formulated with good intentions - but which once again suffers from that pretense of self-salvation that excludes grace and enhances the innate Promethean desire of man. An expression that closely resembles that American film optimism, that positive thought but distracting from faith, a way of being and appearing that shines for the spirit of initiative but nothing more. Sorry, but I don't find myself there, I don't really believe in this: "Everything will be fine".

.

Doing a quick search for news on the Web [1] it seems that in Lombardy, between 5 and the 6 last March, written on post-it with this slogan and later on this phenomenon spread to the rest of Italy. To this sentence it has been thought well to add the omnipresent rainbow supported by two clouds, symbol that today has been enlisted by the unique thought, emptied of any biblical connotation and noachian covenant [cf. Gen 9, 8- 12], to re-edit it as a symbol of lobby and to fight rights. And to see how the rainbow antivirus was packaged, one would expect the appearance of Lepricani and pots of gold coins, and instead…

.

A modality that will perhaps be able to distract children but that will hardly convince adults. In fact - to this day - the current health crisis, begins to spread a certain generalized discomfort that will not be long in turning into traumatic depression. Instead, regarding the genesis of the annex slogan antiviral, different interpretations can be chosen. There are those who opt for secular origin, arguing that it is the literary intuition of an anonymous Lombard poet [2]. Still others [3], with the tendency to baptize everything, they argue that it is a phrase said by Jesus to Juliana of Norwich, English mysticism lived between the 14th and 15th centuries.

.

"Everything will be fine", what it actually means and what is the subject of this expression? Let me understand, everything will be fine after the virus has stopped, after thousands and thousands of deaths have occurred, after many have lost their jobs, after the national economy is on its knees, after health is reduced to historic lows, after families no longer manage to pay their bills and put together lunch and dinner? Everything will be fine, but for whom? After each epidemic, war or earthquake has always gone well? We are sure of it? Only after several years and at the cost of losses and sacrifices, not without those corruption situations that distinguish situations of social destabilization, everything went fine.

.

At this point a question: this is the optimism that should take charge of supporting people, even those who believe? As a priest I cannot indulge such a thought, sorry for all those who will disappoint and who would like to see in the priest the dispenser of a certain mass anesthetization that keeps the flock good pending the inevitable shearing.

.

I don't want to follow the hermeneutics of optimism but of sure hope, resolute in the Pauline teaching he says: "Who will therefore separate us from the love of Christ? Maybe tribulation, the anguish, the persecution, hunger, nudity, the danger, the sword? But in all these things we are more than winners by virtue of the one who loved us " [cf. RM 8,35]

.

Just as all the Fathers of Patmos Island did with their latest writings on this topic, I also think that the way of seeing St. Paul when he always affirms in the Letter to the Romans is decidedly more credible and Christian more sensible, some verses before the previous ones I mentioned, «Everything contributes to good, for those who love God " [cf. RM 8,28].

.

In this sentence we understand immediately what we are talking about. Christian good is the result of a love relationship, that is, a refined work of the Spirit, which reveals the weltanschauung in which God manifests himself through the work of the Son [cf. GV 5,17]. It is in this pact of indissoluble and irreplaceable love that everything becomes a vehicle that contributes to good; everything is needed, everything is interconnected, there is no reality in which God does not make his voice heard.

.

How many saints, Christian faithful and ordinary men have discovered God starting from situations of suffering, in those realities apparently distant from Him. This is the case of the young Christoph Probst, proud opponent of the Nazi regime and Hitler, than during his captivity, before being sentenced to death and guillotined, will receive holy baptism, Communion and Anointing of the Sick. However, he will have time to write a letter to his mother, with these words: «I thank you for giving me life. Come to think of it, it was only a path to God » [4].

.

Here is the felix blame of the Easter preconio, a slow and unstoppable path to God, in which ancient guilt - the origin of all evil - becomes the happy paradox of Providence, through which God saves those who love him, they hope and rely on him.

.

We can get out of this pandemic only by loving God and letting ourselves be loved by him, it is the Lord who is speaking to us in these circumstances, indeed it is screaming at our heart through its Spirit, as he did with the blessed apostle Peter: "Simon, son of John, what is? […] you love Me?» [cf. GV 21,15-17]. And Peter had to answer right after the denial, after that guilt consumed in fear, after that spiritual illness that had made his oaths vain [cf. MC 14,29-31]. That denial, made in the courtyard of the high priest [cf. MC 14,66-72], it was a happy fault for him that allowed him to redeem himself by loving the Lord more and letting himself be loved by Him even in the awareness of his own weakness.

.

«Everything contributes to good, for those who love God ", let's write it in every heart, not as a dangerous determinism whereby anything will turn to good but in correspondence with that crucified love that has conquered the world and still wins it today.

.

Without the love of God, nothing, to think about it, will never go well.

CRISTO PIO PELLICANO IS THE HEART OF THE SOLEMNITY OF THE BODY OF THE LORD

Dear brothers and sisters,

Pie pellicáne, Jesus Lord, I clean with your blood, One drop of doing, All the world from all kinds of crimes (O pious pelican Lord Jesus, purify me, sinner, with your blood, that, with a single drop, it can save the whole world from all sin).

today we celebrate another wonderful feast of the Lord, Corpus Domini. Great mystery, given to us by the Lord at the Last Supper, last act of tenderness for man.

.

The beautiful text of Saint Thomas Aquinas I love you devote expresses in his verses the tenderness of Jesus, because he describes the Lord as a pelican:

.

«Oh pious Pelican, Lord Jesus, / Purify me, unclean, with Your blood / Of which a single drop can save / The whole world from all sin ».

.

Jesus is the pelican who gives his blood for us his little ones, to keep us alive. So that, land readings today [see Liturgy of the Word, WHO] they introduce us to this mystery of presence, communion and abode with Jesus. First of all, in Deuteronomy, we already find traces of the Lord's living and strong presence:

.

«Do not forget the Lord, your god, that brought you out of the land of Egypt, that led you to this great and frightening desert, place of poisonous snakes and scorpions that in the desert fed you with manna unknown to your fathers ».

.

Moses' invitation to the Jewish people is not to forget and, so, to remember that the Lord has nourished his people with manna, while he was in situations of great danger. He was always with them, while leading them out of Egyptian slavery. Manna is a prefiguration of Eucharistic food, with which the Lord is still close to us today and gives us nourishment in the difficulties of life. This invitation is then for us: let's not forget about the Eucharistic Jesus, when everything seems dark, when there seems to be no way out. The Lord himself helps, through the Eucharist, to recognize our moral and existential slavery and to get out of it. While St. Paul exposes this mystery of presence and communion in a strong and clear way:

.

«There is only one bread, we are, although many, one body: in fact we all participate in the only bread ".

.

This is a great teaching. Whenever we make communion, we enter into communion with Jesus; and this, it makes us communion among us. We become one, without losing our personal distinction. The great teaching of this feast is to try to live every mass, any participation in communion as a source of unity, ecclesial but also interpersonal: the Eucharist will help us to overcome the divisions and rifts that may arise. In fact, from this communion there is the experience of God who dwells in us. This is then the center of Jesus' teaching:

.

«Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me and I in him».

.

In the Greek original, that "remains" can also be translated by dwelling, taking just a shade of place. Now that we're going to take communion, God will take up residence in us. This dwelling has a very important meaning: in fact it is welcoming another point of view, that of God who enters the most intimate folds of the soul, of the heart and therefore of life. The remaining of Jesus in us then allows us to open ourselves to a contemplative vision, deep, with the gaze of God on all the people we meet, about all the events that happen to us.

.

The poet William Blake wrote: "The ruins of time build dwellings in eternity".

.

We ask the Lord to feel the beautiful touch of Jesus in our hearts through the Eucharistic species, so that beyond the time that passes between minutes and seconds and the history that unfolds between years and centuries, we can continue walking until reaching Eternal life and building the eternal home to enjoy the final banquet of Paradise.

Amen

WISDOM: ANTIDOTE TO THE CANCER OF THE EMOTIONALITY OF PRIESTS AND LAITY

.

Emotional sentimentalism is the denial of wisdom, because the emotional sentimental is closed to transcendence insofar as it is folded into the obtuse dimension of ... "but I feel ...". And folding the man in the cult of his "I", in the name of an unspecified opening, open societies are not created at all, but closed societies which end up becoming schizophrenic societies, inside of of which emotionality becomes an element of violence and injustice.

The Wisdom of King Solomon

In this Lectio I explain that pto penetrate the arcane mysteries of God and Revelation, we proceed through the reason that guides us to the door of the great mysteries of God. A quel point, from reason we proceed through faith. Because of this, to reason and faith, it is customary to accompany the word wisdom: the wisdom of faith, the wisdom of, the wisdom of the heart, all elements that bring justice to life, because God is just as merciful and merciful as right. A mercy without justice, it is not even thinkable, except to transform God into something else, in something different from what he is and who has revealed himself to man, for example, changing it to one merciful molasses […]

Dear brothers and sisters,

stained glass window of the eighteenth century: The Holy Spirit

we close the long Easter period and the Marian month with the Pentecost feast. It is the descent of the Holy Spirit, as we know, on the Apostles and Disciples, therefore on all of us as Church. Of this beautiful bond between the Spirit and the Church, mother of all saints, Alessandro Manzoni wrote in his hymn The Pentecost:

.

'Mother of ’Santi, image of the supernal city / of the incorruptible eternal conservative blood / You who, for many centuries / You suffer, fight and pray / that your tents unfold / from one to the other "

.

These eternal verses by Manzoni they introduce us to a meditation on today's readings, of Pentecost as a life-giving mystery of prayer, communion and mission. Starting from the first reading where we read:

.

«While the day of Pentecost was taking place, they were all together in the same place. A thunder suddenly came from heaven, almost a wind that blows impetuously, and filled the whole house where they were " [At 2,1].

.

This being closed inside recalls our experience of quarantine lived in the period March-April last. If we imagine the scene, we see that the apostles are praying - during the Jewish Pentecost - closed in and the Spirit breaks out in the form of tongues of fire. Enter the hearts of the apostles who begin to speak all the languages then known. The Holy Spirit / Love enters their hearts through prayer and this allows them to speak the universal language, world of love that knows no ethnic and cultural distinctions. Here, then, also for us the importance of prayer as an opening to a different gaze capable of re-reading the daily events that happen to us from a high and contemplative perspective.

.

From the Pentecost prayer, then communion with God and neighbor comes. Indeed, St. Paul writes:

.

«Nobody can say« Jesus is Lord!», if not under the action of the Holy Spirit. There are several charisms, but only one is the Spirit; there are several ministries, but only one is the Lord » [1 Color 12, 3-4].

.

The Holy Spirit comes to Pentecost and gives us communion, as a unity in distinction. In fact, we all have a call to holiness, in which the Spirit helps to make us saints. This being united, does not remove the distinction in one's identity, to one's vocation and charismatic gifts; indeed it also indicates that the Lord created us unique and unrepeatable, with our talents, virtuosity and specialties and that we put them at the service of others, they become a moment of human and spiritual growth. At the same time, in being in communion with each other we recognize that Jesus is God in the profession of faith in the exercise of works of mercy, where we see Jesus in the poor needy. From this then it indicates that Pentecost is prayer and communion in view of a mission. Jesus says:

.

"Peace be with you."! As the Father sent me, I send you too ". Said this, he blew and said to them: “Receive the Holy Spirit. To those to whom you will forgive sins, will be forgiven; to those you won't forgive, they will not be forgiven "» [GV 20,21].

.

That blew in the Greek original would be "begotten the Spirit in them". So how the Eternal Father sends the Son and today the Holy Spirit, also send us grafted into them to continue this mission of propagation of the Truth and Forgiveness of sins. On one side, this forgiveness of sins recalls the Sacrament of Penance, entrusted to bishops and priests. On the other, It is important to note that God sends all the people of God to announce that forgiveness of sins is regeneration from a deep darkness, an exit from a state of isolation and distance from God.

.

The poet Alda Merini wrote: «Beauty is nothing but the unveiling of a fallen darkness and the light that came out of it».

.

We ask the Lord to be sent to Pentecost to show how great the embrace of the Trinitarian God is, to be ourselves that gift of beauty that spreads the light of the Risen Jesus.

So be it.

Masaccio, Brancacci chapel (Florence), Expulsion of Adam and Eve from earthly Paradise

In a passage from the Gospel of San Matteo we read an apparently enigmatic sentence pronounced by Christ the Lord: But of that day and at that hour, But, nobody knows, not even the angels of heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father [cf. Mt 24, 36].

.

In the climate of fear and uncertainty like what we experienced during the quarantine because of Covid-19, someone particularly sensitive began to caress the idea that this viral infection was actually a sign of the times. This idea takes shape on the profiles social of many people, some of them believers, which is why a little clarity is needed. Instead of entertaining us with the various messages of visionaries, mystics and prophets on duty it is right to give priority to the message of the Gospel as authentic and definitive revelation.

.

The expression "sign of the times" it should not arouse any fear and anguish in the believer's soul, nor much less be used as a synonym of end of the world, precisely because it is attributable to the teaching of Jesus and his evangelizing work. In Matthew's Gospel in chap. 16 verse 3 we find these words: «You don't know how to distinguish - Jesus asks the Pharisees and the Sadducees - the signs of the times?».

.

In front of his listeners who demanded a sign that would confirm his divine identity and authority - something that the devil in the desert had already demanded - The Lord asks a question that directs their attention to the Father's work of salvation through the mediation of the Son.

.

The message is clear. It is not necessary to produce external signs to know that God inhabits time, Jesus is the definitive sign of the Father with which it is possible to read the times. It is curious - but if we go to analyze the Gospel episode well - we realize how the Pharisees and Sadducees are more concerned with pulling Jesus by the jacket and associating him with the reliable club, instead of acknowledging that the Kingdom of God has already begun to reveal itself among them in the power and freedom of the Holy Spirit.

.

The messianic hour has come but the teachers of Israel are unable to recognize it and - even more embarrassing - the hour of salvation has come precisely in times where the freedom of a people is challenged by the occupying Roman Empire. An authentic blasphemy for every pious Israelite!

.

Today we have not lost freedom because of an invading people, we found ourselves losing it to a virus. Speak about signs of the times it means referring to the work of Jesus in the midst of his people, it means to say that Jesus is saving me now, in this time of epidemic, while we were at home sad and disconsolate, while we worried about the future of our loved ones.

.

It gave, in these Coronavirus times, he speaks to us through the eloquent sign of his risen Son, not through other languages or through vindictive punishments. I say this precisely to reassure all those who are listening to me and who risk exchanging this epidemic as a divine punishment.

.

I borrow the words of Pope John XXIII to arouse hope within our Christian life during these days of forced exile from the world:

.

«We like to place a very firm trust in the divine Savior […] that urges us to recognize the signs of the times ", so that "we see numerous clues among dark darkness, which seem to herald better times for the Church and for mankind " [cf. A.A.S. 1962, p. 6].

.

Jesus does not push men to have morbid curiosities on the date of his return to earth or the expiry of the time available to us. It is not appropriate and respectful to God the Father to see divine punishment in temporal calamities, intimately consuming a veiled sense of revenge and satisfaction towards all those who have not yet converted and who oppose God. Those days are mysterious and must remain so. "It is not for you to know the times and moments that the Father has reserved for his choice ..." [cf. At 1,7]. Comment on this passage from the Acts of the Apostles St. Jerome explains: «By this he shows that he [Jesus] knows, but it is not fitting that the Apostles know, so that, always uncertain about the coming of the judge, live every day as if they were to be judged on that day ».

.

We see the sign that it is Christ, in this time when it seems that a virus has the upper hand on our lives, on our faith, about our religious traditions, we see Christ, today that the days of the first major emergency seem to have passed, we all lived sadly in fear and bewilderment; we throw away the old water, but looking for new water, that is, the living water of the Gospel, of the encounter with Christ that assures us: «Heaven and earth will pass away, but my words will not pass " [CF. Mt 24, 35].

.

But of that day and at that hour … let's not be upset, we see Jesus, only in the judgmental encounter with his love can everything acquire meaning, everything will finally be fine.
