That of Bolsena is an "alleged miracle" of the Eucharist? We are invaded by non-Catholic priests who depend on less Catholic Bishops than them who stand by the window and watch, if anything, waiting for the cardinal's hat to merit the migrant?

THAT OF BOLSENA IS A "PRESUMED MIRACLE" OF THE EUCHARIST? WE ARE INVADED BY NON-CATHOLIC PRIESTS WHO DEPEND ON BISHOPS LESS CATHOLIC THAN THEM WHO STAND BY THE WINDOW WATCHING, SEVERE WAITING FOR THE CARDINAL BEANIE TO THE MERIT OF THE MIGRANT?

"The bleeding of the host of Bolsena was considered explainable by Johanna C. Cullen, researcher at Georgetown University in Washington, with the presence of a very common bacterium: the serratia marcescens, that, in periods of hot and humid places, produces an abundant bright red pigment called prodigiosina on bread and focaccia, slightly viscous consistency, easily exchangeable for fresh blood. The Cullen, Furthermore, was able to reproduce the effects of the alleged miracle in the laboratory "

I would very much like not to answer, but questions are coming from readers who ask for insights on the post that I reproduce here, published by a confrere who wrote it on a page Facebook which I chose not to name. This is the post of the confrere:

First of all, let me clarify, not so much as a priest and theologian but as a man of faith, than the Eucharistic ones of Bolsena and of They launch they are recognized by the Church as miracles, that is, as scientifically inexplicable events in which the Church Mater et Magistra recognized the divine supernatural intervention. None of this, for instance, we can say for the liquefaction of the blood of San Gennaro, which the Church has never recognized as a miracle, even if the Neapolitan populace indicates it as such. There is a big difference between miracle and prodigy, St. Thomas Aquinas explains it to us, explaining that what appears admirable and extraordinary to our eyes and senses is not necessarily a miracle: “True miracles can only be accomplished by divine virtue: In fact, God does them for the benefit of men " (Summa Theologica, II-II, 178, 2). Some events appear to be miracles but they are not. There are numerous situations through which man can fall into deception to the point of seeing what does not exist. As there are real facts which, however, do not have the nature of miracles, as the result of various natural causes, including those currently unknown. That of Bolsena was instead judged so striking and important as a miracle, that from that event arose a year later in 1264 the solemn feast of The body of the Lord established by the Supreme Pontiff Urban IV with the bull Pass out of this world.

.

Thomas Aquinas together with Bonaventura di Bagnoregio, another great future saint and doctor of the Church, on the orders of the Supreme Pontiff they assisted the Bishop of that diocese for the study and verification of the miracle. Shortly after the Supreme Pontiff gave Aquinas the task of preparing suitable texts for the liturgy of that new solemnity established. Thus it was that some of the most beautiful Eucharistic hymns in the history of the Church were born, including the Hymn I love you Devote, cited in many documents of the magisterium of the Church, in documents of the last council and in the Catechism of the Catholic Church. Perhaps all this happened due to a ... "presumed miracle"? Why calling the Eucharistic one in Bolsena a "presumed miracle" should lead us to ask ourselves first of all about a formation that is not simply presumed, but definitely not Catholic received by this priest who instills doubts with a similar post published on social media. At the same time we should ask ourselves about the theological and pastoral formation perhaps even more lacking than his bishop who lets him do it not from today but from always, this priest of his being not new to these inappropriate and unhappy expressions. Perhaps because H.E. Mons. Corrado Lorefice, Archbishop of Palermo, he thinks basically like his priest, being if anything, presumably, even worse than his own priest?

.

As far as I'm concerned I am very honored to say that if I had made a public statement of this kind, my Bishop would have ordered me to deny it immediately, then I think he would have forbidden me to write about social media for the next three years. And doing so would simply not have done well, but very well, so much weighs on the conscience of a Bishop the imperative duty to protect the Believers in Christ from the errors of certain priests, that precisely as priests they can cause much more damage than non-believing secularists ever will. Of course, my bishop would have acted this way because he is a true believer, as I am his presbyter. As for this presbyter and his Bishop Corrado Lorefice, I honestly don't know, I do not really know. Because when a bishop frees one of his priests to publicly affirm things of this kind, one is obliged to question the Catholic faith of the Bishop, to then say with deep pain: I don't know… with a very special thanks to the reigning Pontiff, that for eight years has given us this kind of bishops, after they emulated it by speaking only of the poor and migrants, of migrants and the poor. Too bad, however, that the Church is based on the Eucharist, not on the poor and migrants, someone explain it, to the Roman Pontiff, it's never too late.

Mons. Corrado Lorefice from parish priest was elevated to archbishop thanks to the fact that he was a pupil of Don Pino Ruggieri and had graduated from the Foundation for the sciences of religious in Bologna (with a thesis on Dossetti / Lercaro). When Lorefice was appointed, the Foundation was headed by Alberto Melloni. Lifetime member (!!) of the Foundation's Board of Directors, and true “guru”, was and is Enzo Bianchi, that (At that time) in the Vatican he was very much listened to. Be that as it may they were appointed (I would call it chiasmus) a Bologna mons. Zuppi and in Palermo Lorefice. Now Lorefice has granted the premises to the Foundation (of the diocese) for a library of Islamic studies (!) (financed with half a million per year by the ITALIAN STATE, at the moment 2,5 million x 5 year old, in the current situation – documentation is needed?). With so many teachers and mentors he wants the metropolitan archbishop to intervene on one of his priests in favor of a medieval miracle? If anything, he would have punished him if he had written otherwise…

The genius in question, in the end, did nothing but copy what was reported in the entry relating to the miracle on Wikipedia. We are therefore at maximum levels of sloppiness. The idea that everything can be explained with the action of a beat is based on the assumption that in the Middle Ages they were all idiots and in bad faith (the story of the miracle speaks of profuse bleeding, something that cannot be simulated in any way by the action of hitting) and deliberately ignores the only scientific investigations carried out on the relics of the miracle: from the analysis of the photographic documentation of the same obtained in normal light and ultraviolet fluorescence (UV) the presence in every section of the corporal of biological deposits consisting of blood was highlighted, split into plasma and serum.

we thank you both for the comment and for the report.
We have inserted at the bottom of Father Ariel's note the Wikipedia page she indicated to show the readers that it is a real copy / paste and that it would be good, but above all serious, go and look for and cite completely different sources.

Not at all. The reference to the scientific analyzes of the photos of the miracle I have personally added to the Wikipedia page, after having learned of it during a visit to the cathedral of Orvieto, also to bring the voice back to the subject, that just before cited only the study taken up by the imprudent Sicilian priest who, de facto, they have nothing to do with the miracle of Bolsena. On the theme of the Eucharistic miracle, for those interested, I suggest the beautiful book by cardiologist Franco Serafini “A cardiologist visits Jesus “, which analyzes in a serious way, balanced and very well documented scientific studies done on 5 Eucharistic miracles, 4 of which occurred in the last 30 year old.

” It is a pity that the Church, however, rests on the Eucharist, not on the poor and migrants…” He's right to sell, father ariel, however they do not believe in the Eucharist, just as they don't believe in the Resurrection. Not having to proclaim saving truths, have been reduced to insignificance. In a few years and the churches will be attended only by those few over ninety years old not yet locked up in some retirement home. Unfortunately, I pray a little, ma, when I do, I ask the Father, among other things, to help His Church. On the practical side, instead, I have stopped giving any offering to those I once trusted.

The denial of miracles, as well as the need to give trivial explanations to the mystery, is a modernist tic, a severe compulsive form that (perhaps) lessens the subjective responsibility of individuals, but which has the advantage of making the modernist recognizable from a distance. A less noble brand, but no less authentic than the beast for this.
