Esteemed Bishops.

Starting Monday 16 May you will be gathered in Rome in the plenary assembly of the Italian Episcopal Conference, in the course of which, among the various themes, you will also deal with the "renewal" and "training of the clergy". I therefore believe it is legitimate to ask you: are you really convinced that you are talking about the problem of "clergy training", without first talking about the dramatic problem of the training of Bishops who are called to train their own clergy? This is why I offer you food for thought in this "good treatise for every bishop".

      We've been talking about vague problems for years, or empirical, in order to turn our backs on the concrete problems on which to seek true saving solutions.

    In my little diocese, between 2002 and the 2015 we have changed three bishops. It seems that the function of our church is to give first-appointed bishops a trial run while waiting for a better seat to become available. And since with this awareness the bishops came … and as the bishop was “the last to arrive and the first to leave”, the prelates did not want problems and issues that would hinder their departure. And dealing with a bishop who feels “provisional” and what gives “provisional” Of “step” behaves, it's not the best, for a presbytery.
