Esteemed Bishops.

Starting Monday 16 May you will be gathered in Rome in the plenary assembly of the Italian Episcopal Conference, in the course of which, among the various themes, you will also deal with the "renewal" and "training of the clergy". I therefore believe it is legitimate to ask you: are you really convinced that you are talking about the problem of "clergy training", without first talking about the dramatic problem of the training of Bishops who are called to train their own clergy? This is why I offer you food for thought in this "good treatise for every bishop".

    Don Stefano Bellobuono says:

Once again, one spoke “for everyone” with the risk of paying for it yourself “for everyone”. In case of need, do not leave it alone, if anything we share at least part of the price …

      don.Miclor02 says:

We've been talking about vague problems for years, or empirical, in order to turn our backs on the concrete problems on which to seek true saving solutions.
And I doubt that anyone could drag a born fighter into the Colosseum to compete with people who move with increasing difficulty in wheelchairs., to which I doubt it even crosses the mind to present him with some bills to pay …

    Don Andrea says:

In my little diocese, between 2002 and the 2015 we have changed three bishops. It seems that the function of our church is to give first-appointed bishops a trial run while waiting for a better seat to become available. And since with this awareness the bishops came … and as the bishop was “the last to arrive and the first to leave”, the prelates did not want problems and issues that would hinder their departure. And dealing with a bishop who feels “provisional” and what gives “provisional” Of “step” behaves, it's not the best, for a presbytery.
From this emerge all the situations described by p. Ariel, left to ferment and fester from bishop to bishop, while others, who were not the bishop (3/4 priests of the diocese), they imposed their own “power” Of “management” and of “government”, from bishop to bishop, regardless of the bishop.
And here I make the point, because going further would require a treaty.
In his writing anyway, touching and in many ways moving, p. Ariel has said everything that needed to be said … but unfortunately I fear there are no ears ready to listen …

    • Mattia says:

Ah, as long as they don't read the part about children of divorcees! Otherwise I'm screwed!

  3. Hector says:

    Humble, subsidiary, dutiful supplication.
Acts of the Apostles,1, 15-26, just before Pentecost, the replacement of Judas is remembered. “23 Two were proposed, Joseph called Barsabba, who was nicknamed Giusto, and Mattia. 24 Then they prayed, saying: «Tu, man, that you know everyone's heart, show us which of these two you have designated 25 to take the place in this ministry and apostolate that Judas abandoned to go to the place he had chosen". 26 So they cast lots for them, and the lot fell on Matthias, who was associated with the eleven.”
Pride, selfishness, pride, vanity, lust for power… , they are ancestral weaknesses of earthly man, of the man priest, and of the man bishop (a teacher of life for the greater glory of God)
I am not worthy recites the penitent, recognizing their own human miseries, humbly imploring God's help.
“You, man, that you know everyone's heart, show us which ones…” give us holy priests and bishops, Light them up, Always assist them with your Grace so that they guide us and comfort us with their testimony on the path to Calvary.
