The website of this magazine and the editions take name from the Aegean island in which the Blessed Apostle John wrote the Book of the Apocalypse, isola also known as «the place of the last revelation»

«God revealed the secrets of others ALTIUS»
(in higher than the others, John has left the Church, the arcane mysteries of God)

The bezel used as the cover of our home page is a 16th century fresco by Correggio. preserved in the Church of San Giovanni Evangelista in Parma

We could then say that the term “poor”, in the light of Christian doctrine, can be understood in three ways:
1) The poor who lives in a state of material poverty, a deplorable condition worthy of compassion but in itself ethically neutral: condition that therefore – by itself – it neither condemns nor saves.
2) The poor who lives in a state of spiritual misery, as described in the article, a deplorable condition too, but which, unlike the first, leads – or it can lead – to perdition.
3) The “poor in spirit”, that is, he who does not put material goods (good in themselves) in place of God the Father (how does the “rich” in the evangelical sense of the term): he does not chase false idols, but the real treasure, whereby, as the Gospel says, will have as an inheritance – I would like to say “logically”, if it weren't too cold and frivolous a word – God's Kingdom.
The poor man is not identifiable….
Absolutely true. Try a little’ but to explain it to our cardinal bishop priests. And I stop here for the love of the Church.
