There are things that many people miss, busy as I am jumping from one blog to another to quickly scroll through half the news, most of which fake news or gossip offered by social media.

Not surprising that the conferral of cardinal dignity on the Metropolitan Archbishop of Naples was suddenly announced. Something else is perplexing: the cardinal nomination of Neapolitan prelate was announced on 4 November, day on which the Church commemorates Saint Charles Borromeo, who was cardinal and archbishop of Milan, city of which he is co-patron together with the main patron Sant'Ambrogio.

Coincidence, inadvertence or malice? Nobody is allowed to know, Only God can read the intentions hidden in man's conscience.

About the Minister of Culture. The lack of degrees is perhaps a sign of great genius on the Left and a source of great teasing on the Right?

ABOUT THE MINISTER OF CULTURE. THE LACK OF DEGREES IS PERHAPS A SIGN OF GREAT GENIALITY ON THE LEFT AND A REASON FOR GREAT TASTE ON THE RIGHT?

The "party comedians" sent on the attack to make fun of the “poor” Minister of Culture because he does not graduate, then to follow because he graduated at almost fifty years old, by chance they also intend to make fun of certain flagship authors celebrated as undisputed icons of the Left, some of whom did not even finish high school or high school?

The current minister of culture Alessandro Giuli he was the subject of criticism and ridicule because he did not have a degree, then because he only recently obtained his degree on the threshold of 50 year old.

Alberto Pincherle, aka Alberto Moravia (1907 – 1990)

On the left side they indulged themselves in giving the best of themselves. Personally I think the Minister deserves criticism, even severe if desired, but otherwise, not for the lack of a degree, which has never constituted a guarantee of intelligence for anyone, wisdom, preparation and competence.

Let's take just a few of those authors considered untouchable intellectuals as well as flags of the Left of yesterday and today:

Italo Calvino (Santiago de Las Vegas 1923 – Siena 1985) who was a lazy and mediocre student since his adolescence, enrolled in the faculty of agriculture where he only took a few exams and then withdrew from his studies, today he is considered one of the most significant narrators of the twentieth century (cf.. WHO).

Elio Vittorini (Syracuse, 1908 – Milano, 1966) who, far from ever having graduated, did not even manage to obtain a diploma from the accounting institute, today he is included in the Olympus of twentieth-century Italian writers (cf.. WHO).

Alberto Moravia (Rome, 1907 - Rome, 1990) who didn't even finish classical high school, interrupting his studies after the first two years of high school, he is the author of a novel (The indifferent, 1929) considered “capital work” of twentieth-century literature (cf.. WHO).

These authors had something in common with each other who were several times editorialists of The Unity, official organ of the Italian Communist Party, and for years, the Third Page of the communist newspaper The Manifesto, he dedicated every kind of exaggerated celebratory criticism to them.

The "party comedians" sent to attack to mock the “poor” Minister of Culture because he does not graduate, then to follow because he graduated at almost fifty years old, by chance they also intend to make fun of certain flagship authors celebrated as undisputed icons of the Left, some of whom did not even finish high school or high school?

“Gratitude and love of God”? Out of question l’ “love Gods”, while on the “free” it is best to evaluate and avoid if necessary. A new look of The Island of Patmos

THANK YOU AND THE LOVE OF GOD ? IT IS OUT OF DISCUSSION L’GODS LOVE, WHILE ON FREE IT IS WELL TO EVALUATE AND AVOID IF APPROPRIATE. A NEW LOOK OF THE ISLAND OF PATMOS

Many just need a mobile phone in their hands and an Internet connection to believe that culture and knowledge should be free, if not worse: that they are due. Like this, everything that doesn't have a cost risks becoming entertainment, if not worse, a source of quarrel and aggression on the part of serial haters and internet brawlers.

.

Dear Readers,

the 20 October this magazine he accomplished 10 years of journalistic activity. I Editorial Fathers they would have liked to all get together to celebrate, but commitments of various kinds in different parts of Italy did not allow this. They have been ten very beautiful years, of continuous growth and increase, without ever knowing bending. From 1 January 2024 to date we have already exceeded the 30 millions of visits.

During the last meeting the Council of Editions The Island of Patmos Onlus, owner of this magazine, confirmed Dr. Jorge Facio Lince in the role of president of the Association and me as director of the newspaper The Island of Patmos.

The year was 2011, when I went to visit an elderly priest and brought him my book as a gift And Satan became triune. Analysis on the Third Millennium Church. The old man told me:

«I thank you and I will read your book, but I'll give you some advice: don't give away your works left and right, what is given as a gift is often not appreciated. Writing certain books takes effort, study and sacrifices of various kinds. Some books can take years of work, if anyone wants to read them, if you buy them".

I treasured that wise teaching also thinking about other implications, perhaps ignored by that elderly man, like the way in which certain writings and works are despised and criticized with insults by more or less anonymous subjects who go crazy for the social media and that they have only read the title of certain articles, at most the subtitle.

Today Michelangelo's Pietà it is placed sheltered behind glass, in order to avoid that some other madman can vandalize it with a hammer like happened in 1972.

To prevent our monumental cathedrals continued to be assaulted by barbarian hordes interested only in getting high selfies, not infrequently even damage, since it didn't cost anything to get in and out, an entrance fee was imposed to overcome such problems.

For many, a cell phone in their hands is enough and an Internet connection to believe that culture and knowledge should be free, if not worse: that they are due. Like this, everything that doesn't have a cost risks becoming entertainment, if not worse, a source of quarrel and aggression on the part of serial haters and internet brawlers.

The Fathers of the Island of Patmos they have thus decided to put a "ticket" in the form of an annual subscription to access all those theological and current affairs articles that require particular work, time and dedication. The cost of the subscription is 5 € per month, for a total of 60 euro per year. The proceeds will be used to pay the living expenses of this magazine of ours which annually amount to 5.200 Euro.

It is usual to say free the amor Dei. It is out of the question L'amor Dei, while on the free it is best to evaluate and avoid if necessary, especially when it is not appropriate, less than ever due. On gratitude, instead, it's better to overlook...

We are grateful to the readers who have supported us over time and we thank in advance those who have understood the meaning, the value and quality that is offered, they will want to contribute by supporting the magazine.

Nothing but black legends about the Middle Ages, we should establish a day of thanksgiving for the crusades and crusaders

Among the black legends about the Middle Ages Crusades and crusaders are all the rage, the witch hunt follows which we will talk about in another Brief.

In Egypt where i “bad” Crusaders did not win and these were the consequences

To those who do acculturano between social media e talk show it should be explained that the Mohammedans destroyed all the oldest Christian communities in North Africa in the 7th century, mother land of the greatest fathers and doctors of the Church. To name just one: Aurelio, who later became Agostino, he was originally from Tagaste, the current one Souk Ahras, he was later Bishop of Hippo, the current one Annaba, both cities of today's Algeria.

If it weren't for the Crusades and the Crusaders today the Papal Archbasilica of St. John Lateran it would be a large mosque like the former Byzantine cathedral of Hagia Sophia a Istanbul. I know Lepanto “Holy League” had not defeated the Mohammedans in 1571, with two hops they would have reached Rome, and today, many of our women wandering the steep streets, low-cut and with bare bellies, they would wear dresses down to their ankles and walk with their heads down.

The very blonde one naked maja which on the Rai television networks speaks with arrogant and ignorant disdain about certain historical events using the term Middle Ages in a negative sense, today he would wear it’abaya on the body and head the chador, in the best and most liberal of hypotheses l’hijab nero, if the crusades had failed and the crusaders had lost some delicate battles.

No criticism for its own sake about the ballets inside the Roman basilicas, just three short theological questions to the Bishops

NO CRITICISM FOR ITSELF'S END ON BALLETS INSIDE ROMAN BASILICAS, ONLY FOUR SHORT THEOLOGICAL QUESTIONS TO THE BISHOPS

It must be the local ethnic particularity that submits to Catholic universality or rather the Catholic universality that instead submits to the local ethnic particularity?

— The Briefs of the Fathers of The Island of Patmos —

.

Author
Simone Pifizzi

.

First question: it was necessary to stage these ethnic dances in the Papal Archbasilica of San Paolo Fuori le Mura on the occasion of the canonization of the holy missionary priest Giuseppe Allamano, founder of Consolata Missionaries?

Second question: these ethnic ballets are part of our Latin culture and liturgical tradition?

Third question: it must be the local ethnic particularity that submits to Catholic universality or rather the Catholic universality that instead submits to the local ethnic particularity?

These are three purely theological questions, no harsh criticism, no ill will towards the ethnic dances of the Black Continent, which I and all the other brothers on this island of Patmos have always liked very much, but which we find out of place inside the ancient Roman basilicas.

Let us ask these three questions to our Bishops not for us Presbyters who perhaps also know the answer, but for our Catholic faithful, increasingly disoriented and lost.

Some “Dream boyfriends” of our peers and a legitimate posthumous question

SOME "DREAM BOYFRIENDS" OF OUR PEERS AND A LEGITIMATE POSTHUMUS QUESTION

«The unforgettable Mia Martini, in his song “Gli men” he sang: “Women's patience begins at that age”. With hindsight today I have to tell you that I feel like paraphrasing: “The irrationality of us women begins at that age”»

— The Briefs of the Fathers of The Island of Patmos —

.

I'm old now and distant memories come back to my mind, starting from those of adolescence.

I present to you some of the numerous womanizers, chosen at random, idolized by our companions, at the time we had between 16 e i 20 year old, men of dreams and their undisputed male and erotic models. And when any of us, perhaps a little more intuitive and introspective, he said he smelled a certain vegetable - today unmentionable, except being accused of so-called homophobia — the crazy lovers rose up and, good that it went, they called us envious, because with some there was a real risk of lynching, especially if they were in a group.

Recently, to a childhood friend of mine, going over certain memories together I asked: «If you had married one of these womanizers and undisputed male and erotic models, you would have had a satisfying love life, a fulfilling sex life, of children...?».

He smiled at me and answered: «The unforgettable Mia Martini, in his song The men he sang: “Women's patience begins at that age”. With hindsight today I have to tell you that I feel like paraphrasing: “The irrationality of us women begins at that age”».
