FOR PEACE IN THE CHURCH

Modernists and Lefebvrians are both embroiled in ideology and prisoners of a mentality partial and unilateral. Like Jesus Christ, both the modernist that Lefebvre warns: «Who is not with me, is against me ". But both, for opposite reasons, are outside of the riverbed of sound doctrine, each believes to be the true Catholic and who is not with him, is its dialectical opposite pole […] Now, at the root of these conflicts about the essence of being a Catholic, is still, after fifty years, the very serious question still relevant, namely that of the righteous judgment to be expressed on the Second Vatican Council and its influence in the Church and, consequently, that of a straight application of the Council.

    Dear P. Horses,
it seems to me that in the progressive context the "contempt against those who are concerned with fixing the precise essence of Catholic identity" derives from a certain misunderstanding.
I note that today we conceive of not agreeing with a person as contempt for that person. So we should not look down on anyone's deeds, nor his opinions, because we cannot judge it.
When I talk to young non-Catholics I believe this is due to ignorance of what Catholicism is. No one ever explained it to him, and perhaps they met some modernists who "were the ones who understood everything".
But in the modernists what is it due to?? In my opinion it is due to the lack of virility of today's man. Today we are not capable of calmly confronting those who think differently from us. On the internet we don't hold back from insulting. However, I believe that a real man is capable of disagreeing with those in front of him with great sincerity, respect, love for the truth and love for the other person.
Thank you for your clear and necessary explanations. But how I wish they weren't!

Dear Father Giovanni, dear Father Ariel, I just finished reading your two articles at the end of a very busy day and I have to tell you (without being misunderstood because I am serious and not joking) that you would be able to write a compelling comment even on the telephone directory and capture the attention of readers. Father Giovanni's analysis of peace in the Church is surgical, Father Ariel's comment on the prologue of Ephesians is lyrical. I am also awaiting an article from Father Livi which will certainly not be long in coming, I saw that his latest piece was also reported in French, congratulations.
Most sincere best wishes, solo 4 months, you've produced some stuff!
