THIS TIME, IN ITALY, IN FRONT OF A DRAGONS, A SAN GIORGIO WILL NOT BE ENOUGH. ALSO BECAUSE DRAGHI IS REAL, SAN GIORGIO ONLY A LEGEND

.

We have witnessed the policy ofAnti-something. A policy of this kind has accustomed us to seeing stars rise as new messiahs who were supposed to solve the country's problems but which then fell into the abyss of absolute nothingness. Often in recent years we have seen various re-editions of Animal Farm George Orwell, where we start with the revolutionary cry "All animals are equal" and end up sanctioning "... but some are more equal than others".

We are experiencing hours of trepidation waiting for the appointed Prime Minister Mario Draghi to accept the task proposed by the President of the Republic Sergio Mattarella to create a new executive to be able to start governing. Consultations have already been made, now it's time to uncover the cards and seek trust.

.

As a Catholic a politics of this kind fails to excite me, I do not find anything similar, not even making an effort. I have never been an adult Catholic on the Romano Prodi or Rosy Bindi model. I've never even been a CL, of those who fought against left-wing student movements in high school or university, or against the liberticidal policies of the Radicals, except to invite Emma Bonino years later to their meeting of Rimini, forgetting that the Lady used to refer to abortion as "a great social achievement". What politicians I was able to know, since my youth, it allowed me to stay as far away as possible, in order to safeguard my physical health and my intellectual integrity.

.

Maybe I'll be limited but I can't imagine the existence of a Christian politician today, least of all Catholic. Certainly not a Joe Biden-like Catholic politician. And the reasons lie in the belief that God is God and always remains more authoritative and important than any Caesar. Like this, sooner or later, you have to come to a choice to take sides, either God is served or Mammon is used:

.

“No one can serve two masters: or he will hate one and love the other, or to the one and despise the other: you cannot serve God and mammon " [Mt 6, 24].

.

After the tangentopoli catastrophe in the early nineties and the twilight of the old Italian historical parties, we have been through years of politics take away who did not train purebred politicians and even less Catholics but only demagogues ready to ride the useful wave of sentimentality and dissatisfaction. So not only, failed to pursue the interest and the good of the police as our Greek fathers would have liked, but the much vaunted democracy that is no longer such has even been mistreated, because it no longer governs, much less does it in the name of the People to whom belongs the sovereignty that it delegates to its own rulers with the mechanism of free elections [cf.. Art. 1 of the Republican Constitution].

.

From a kind of politics and politicians of this kind, if it is impossible to expect even a pale good for the country, it is almost utopian to hope for some generic good for man. Only a fool would not notice the anti-human policies that recent governments have pursued, always and in practice with the blessing of a certain avant-garde ecclesiastical left.

.

Man lives in contingency and in contingency he has the right to find that reward which should never be lacking in any child of God: work, salute, security and freedom. Corporate cornerstones to be able to create a dignified and peaceful existence. The illusion of New Humanism and resilience in opposition to the Covid-19 catastrophe imported by the Conte government has led Italy to be dehumanized and cynical in many areas of social life. A dehumanization that we have also been able to experience in our Churches, in the faces of our shepherds, in that outgoing Church that can no longer find its way back home. A Church field hospital in which, if you report as seriously injured to the emergency room, they don't give you assistance of any kind, indeed, they don't even let you in, if you don't show the credit card of politically correct Catholic progressivism.

.

Any humanism refers to a well-defined anthropology, from which it is then possible to start to build a model of concrete man. For us Christians, anthropology is defined in the Christ event, the Behold the man who defeated the wise governor Pilate and who with his life uprooted the tricks of religious and political traditionalism. Perhaps, to want to do fantasy-theology, if Christ had a party of his own today, would only have zero zero point ...

.

With the arrival of the figure of Mario Draghi everyone's enthusiasm seems to have rekindled, both in Italy and in Europe and also within the Church. The people's advocate devoted to Padre Pio and a disciple of Cardinal Achille Silvestrini having been scrapped at Villa Nazareth, he looked at the new messiah of the European Central Bank who owns a pedigree of all respect and which can boast the guarantee seal given by the Society of Jesus, or as Father Ariel S. Levi di Gualdo «… the new Company of the Indies ".

.

The frank analysis of the pickaxe Francesco Cossiga has been silenced, today we look at a different Draghi, almost a distillation of auspicious expectations and hope realized for many people. It will really be like this? La Civiltà Cattolica, as well as the megaphone of Santa Marta, the multifaceted Father Antonio Spadaro praises Draghi in such a lavish way as to suggest the use of a cortisone ointment. And if the good Jesuit Spadaro is the first in pole position in praising Mario Draghi - also recalling the pontifical appointment as ordinary member of the academy of social sciences in July 2020 ― Christian family, newspaper renamed ten years ago slush Christian by the aforementioned Father Ariel, he does not miss the opportunity to remove a few pebbles from his shoe with the pungent article by theologian Pino Lorizio.

.

In short, a layman this Draghi from secular Catholicism that either you love him madly or hate him madly. We will see in the near future how much Jorge Mario Bergoglio will be dear to the man and whether as a good former Jesuit student he will succeed with parrhesia in an attempt to reconcile the opposites, to square the circle and create gold from vile lead.

.

On the web under the hashtag "#quellavoltacheDraghi" it is possible to find amusing curtains in which all sorts of extravagances are attributed to Draghi, just as mystical powers and thaumaturgical virtues are attributed to him. This is an all-Italian bizarre that, instead of becoming aware of the impending disaster, prefers to find a comic streak and play down. I therefore conclude by saying that I am rather embittered by a policy that once again has proved itself distant from the people, which is no longer conceived as a service but as a caste privilege, who is no longer there to listen but prefers to impose. Just so, finally impose that "... but some animals are more equal than others". Imposing a government instead of giving a voice to democracy, impose an agenda that remains unknown to the most but well-known to the oligarchic circle of holders of power who protect each other. An imposition that does not spare even the most sacred places of the vestibule and the altar and which does not hesitate to avoid in areas that do not belong to it, is unfortunately much more superior and authoritative than many ministers of the Church who by now, like a broken gramophone, trace the same old traces.

.

Perhaps the new government will be very respectable, will prove worthy of Soloviev's work Tales of the Antichrist, with which it was inaugurated at the end of 2014 The Island of Patmos, dedicating one of the first articles to this prophetic tale [see, WHO]. Overall it will be a decent government, multi-titled, philanthropist, pacifist, vegetarian, animal rights activist, exegete, ecumenist but fundamentally so deeply anti-human. And what is worse, we will compete to hail this anti-humanity as the long-desired salvation. I'd like to be wrong, but I believe that this time in Italy in front of a Draghi a San Giorgio will not be enough. Also because Draghi is real, San Giorgio is just a legend.

NOTE OF PREPARATION

That of St. George is considered by Church historians to be a mythological figure that never existed in reality. Despite the total absence of documents and historical sources attesting to its existence, he was canonized by the Supreme Pontiff Gelasius I in 496. More than a saint who really existed, George of Cappadocia is the result of legend and popular faith, but above all it is a precious metaphor and a pedagogical paradigm of the heroic knight of God who frees men from the dangers generated by a terrible and fearsome monster, in this case a dragon.

I was struck by the part that concerns Catholic politicians. With some horror, and a little’ I think that the last prime minister who declared himself an atheist and anticlerical was Giovanni Spadolini and that the last one who behaved as a Catholic was Amintore Fanfani… The others have all said they are Catholics or interested in the Catholic world and have always governed sicut Deus non daretur….

Serious and well written article, congratulations to p. Ivano. His speech raises a question to me: what judgment to give, in the light of today, to generations of sincere believers who – with very different sensitivities – they invested time, effort and energy for a Christian politics? I think of the long parable that goes from the Opera dei Congressi to the Camaldoli code and personalities like Sturzo, De Gasperi, Dossetti, the young Montini, Fanfani and (with some reservations) Moro; without forgetting some ideas of Fr Giussani. To make it simple: they were masters unheard or, after all, they spent themselves, with the best of intentions, in a lost battle from the start?

I would like to know who these famous would be “Church historians” who consider that of San Giorgio a legend, when the presence of very ancient historical sources which attest to its existence and its cult is known. Thank you

I reply to his comment posted at the bottom of the article by my brother Father Ivano because in it he brings up all three, therefore in my capacity as responsible director I can answer for everyone.

      1. There are no Fascist priests on this island, as there are none of Communists and so on, being us three priests of all at the service of all, certainly not priests of “some” o di “someone”.

      2. The Italian sheep are used to voting who they want since the advent of the liberal state and the entry into force in 1848 of the Albertine Statute, to follow up with the Republic and the Republican Constitution.

      3. I don't know who she is, Red Primrose, but it certainly does not come from the old Italian communist tradition, characterized by intelligent and brilliant minds who have traveled the Italian homeland history from Antonio Gramsci to Enrico Berlinguer. Unfortunately she turns out not to be intelligent and not brilliant, therefore you are not playing on a historical post-communist left that does not belong to it and that perhaps does not even know what it is.

    Rev. Father Ivano Liguori,

I am a Roman friend of the Tuscan-Roman father Ariel, and for 9 years and 7 months I was between the Chamber of Deputies and the Senate of the Republic, first deputy then senator.
I am secular and non-believer alas! But always accurate … “for now”, because one day I might even come to discover and / or perceive that the future and the eternal are truly in the hands of God.
I do not enter the political or even the technical, I can only say: horror!
Caro Father, I know people who have lived in politics for decades but who unfortunately are unable to make an intelligent analysis like yours. For this reason, today we find ourselves confirmed Di Maio and Speranza by Dragon Ball.
Having said that, I close with a respectful greeting to you, Father Ivano, and to the other Fathers, including my friend Ariel.

Thanks Father Ivano! As proof that you are three balanced and highly trained priests who from an island whose name is a whole program, through that wisdom which is a gift of the Holy Spirit, they stimulate us to hope, first and foremost precisely when all would seem lost.
In this lies the greatness of your work, for those who want to understand it and are able to understand it.

    Reverend Father Ivano,

this article shows the crisis gripping the Church which is apostatizing where “i draghi” they are praised and calling Biden a Catholic is blasphemy, like Prodi who is one who has sold out Italy to the powers of the elites or the Catholic Monti. But what can we do when a Pope defines Bonino, anti-clerical abortion note and one for euthanasia and drugs “great Italian”? Or is exalted by Freemasonry which is an invention of Satan? For the encyclical Do them all ,https://www.grandeoriente.it/massoneria-chiesa-la-fratellanza-valore-massonico-e-la-fratellanza-secondo-papa-francesco-in-un-articolo-su-erasmo/o The cult of San Giorgio is only a legend, I hope that Jesus will save us.
