Dear Readers,

I'm a simple boy, a country boy, just think that I sign with the cross. Of course, this is not because I am a bishop — bishops put a cross in front of their name when they sign —, but because I'm illiterate. In fact, it's not me who writes, but another who writes for me under dictation.

My simplicity and my ignorance therefore they require me to ask the wise for guidance. And today, the the seat of wisdom, are the social media. You don't even need a computer, just a phone, before which the great National Library is of little use with all that it contains. On the contrary, I don't understand why they haven't built a mall or a big one yet fast-food.

Starting to have a certain age as well, therefore surely exposed to the first strokes of senile dementia, If I remember correctly, events of this kind that happened in the various Italian schools come to my mind:

1. Christmas time: Nativity scenes and Christmas carols prohibited in schools, Mohammedans might be disturbed by it;

2. the bishop of the diocese was prevented from visiting the school while he was on a pastoral visit in that area, because the school is secular;

3. prevented the parish priest from entering the school during the Easter blessing of families, because school belongs to everyone, especially the children of non-believers who could be traumatized for life by two drops of holy water;

4. Italian cardinal known as a distinguished scholar as well as a former academic invited by the committee of Catholic students for a keynote at the University, prevented and canceled because the collectives of the left have threatened loud protests “secularism, secularism!”;

etc … etc …

If senile dementia looming it doesn't confuse my memories, I seem to remember that at the La Sapienza University of Rome entry was barred to the Supreme Pontiff Benedict XVI who with a greeting would have upset, what am I saying: sacrilegious profanation of the dogma of secularism. It was of little use to recall that that university was founded and subsidized by the Roman Pontiffs and that its name - La Sapienza - derives from a liturgical antiphon from the Advent period which recites:

O Wisdom,
proceeding from the mouth of the Most High, reaching out,
reaching from end to end, strongly
gently arranging everything:
I came to teach us the way of prudence

O Wisdom,
that you came out of the mouth of the Most High,
coming from border to border, and forcefully
gently arranging everything:
come and teach us the way of prudence.

Happened to me too 2011, when I held a conference with Franco Cardini at the Faculty of Letters and Philosophy of La Sapienza in Rome. As I climbed the entrance staircase four brats said: "The university is secular". I replied: "Sure, so come and hear my lecture, because I will speak precisely of the value of secularism and the importance of the separation between Church and State".

With him the sexologist Nada Loffredi and the lawyer Lorenzo Puglisi in a crowded courtroom, obviously very secular, rather secular, because porn is the most secular thing we can offer our boys [see WHO, WHO, WHO]

I am sure that if I will now state that this is authentic fucking secularism in the most realistic and harmful sense of the term, some kind soul “Cattolica” she will be shaken and disturbed to such an extent that she will rush to send her ritual email to my Bishop, complaining that I am a vulgar priest, or worse "a shame of a priest". I hope that holy man of my Bishop, who has never said a bad word in his entire life, having assessed the seriousness of the fact described above and of what I have dealt with, respond to certain bigots more troublesome than the mosquitoes of the swamps of the old Agro Pontino … "Stop, with your nonsense you have literally pissed me off!».

Long live the secular school!
