In this brief passage from the Gospel we are faced with a paradox: really it happened that the devil has tempted God Incarnate, the Word was made flesh ? [CF. Mt 4, 1-11 - text WHO]. Perhaps the devil attempted to play God in his humanity, pretending to be unaware of what Jesus was divine in his humanity and his divinity in human. Blinded by pride and by the delirium of omnipotence tend to overestimate the most of themselves and to underestimate others, why they are doomed to defeat. It may be that they do not fall in the near, but inevitably fall at the first change of season, with the wilting of wildflowers.

I forgot another pearl. In Reggio Emilia, a few years ago that they had invented to teach religion in schools it was enough to have followed a course of a few months (!). The result was that those who had studied years at the Institute of Religious Sciences was bypassed by teachers avowedly atheist who had rushed to obtain a license in that way just to earn some money by adding more teaching religion to their duties. It was pointed out the scandal to the Diocese, but without any response. Probably it was fine with the Diocese because of the local political context in red: nothing grits and all happy (e “Democrats”, obviously).
Three years ago one of my students asked me averages (to clarify that I was teaching letters, no religion): “Teacher, it is true that the devil exists? The professor of religion says that it was only a projection of the doubts of Jesus man…” I barely held back the anger and, since I could not criticize behind a colleague, answered: “Who said Pope Francis? Who does not please Christ, Please the devil. Also there are people who pray to heal the possessed”. The girl was happy and said to her friends: “Seen? I said it that there!”. But I was very sick at the thought of what kind of teachers “religion” are now in circulation (this is not the only case).

the situation of teachers of religion, few exceptions, It is dramatic traits.
This is the reason why I have always said unfavorable to this teaching, especially considering the forms of clerical patronage, or if prefers impudent nepotism … mi spiego: in certe diocesi – especially of Southern Italy -, teachers of religion are mostly women, most of which invariably sisters, grandchildren, cousins and relatives of several priests, obviously starting from managers in charge of the teachers themselves.
In an Italian diocese was discovered long ago that the priest in charge of’school office, he had enrolled 14 his family members including teachers of religion, dei quali 8 without even the required title, but provisional da anni e anni.
The second reason why I am in favor of the abolition of this teaching is the lack of doctrinal preparation of teachers, always subject to rare exceptions.
Do catechesis in schools is not possible, particularly today, In our contemporary society.
To spread Catholic doctrine we parishes, ecclesiastical institutions, youth movements, etc … that will work on those and through those.
