REFUSAL Lutheran RELIGIOUS LIFE FROM THE DRAMA NATO INTERIOR OF LUTHER

.

Martin Luther would have the qualities of a great reformer: She had the temper of a St. Augustine, It was a good reflection of San Paolo, He resembled the Savonarola or to St. Peter Damian or Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, had the courage and boldness of St. Catherine of Siena, very un lo di San Pio X. But these were true reformers; not him.

First of all sorry for the lack of clarity.

I meant that the Bull exsurge domine, as you can read, condemns the proposition number 33, which says, "it is contrary to the will of the Spirit that heretics are burned".

In other words, according to the Bull, say that it is immoral and contrary to the will of God burning heretics is a doomed proposition and can not be held by a Catholic.

Condemned as erroneous the proposition "is contrary to the will of the Spirit that heretics are burned" means, if the logic is not an opinion, That I, as a Catholic, I should be obliged to believe that the burning of heretics is something meritorious or not wrong in God's eyes, and that if today this is not done it is because there are more societal conditions to do so but, if those conditions were to change back to those of the past, with temporal power allied et (impossible, but let's take the argument for good purposes), a Catholic should accept that their church burned heretics.

Since I saw that, in the previous comment, I failed to link the Bull, I try again to detailed information, consult Cathopedia http://it.cathopedia.org/wiki/Exsurge_Domine where is that, as you can verify, I lists the erroneous thesis and reprocessed by Martin Luther.

As you can all see, between the erroneous thesis that Martin Luther would have to recant, we have the thesis 33 who claims “It is against the will of the Spirit that heretics are burned”.

La Bolla Arise, essentially, He tells us that it is wrong and against the Faith to argue that it is a crime to burn the heretics.

      Giovanni Cavalcoli, ON says:

      Dear Philip.

in the Bull Arise, O Pope Leo against Luther (Denz.1492) not only found heresies, but also less serious errors, according to a decreasing order, as the Pope himself states at the end of the Bull: "Articles contrary to Catholic truth, fakes, scandalous, offensive to pious ears, deceivers of Simple Minds ».

Must give an evaluation for each artircolo, choosing wisely and competently one of the complaints listed.

The 33 is condemned not because heretic, but why outrageous, as contrary to the criminal law of the Church of that time. Heretical propositions, instead, are the following: NN. 25, 26, 27, 29, 31, 36. The others are affected by other complaints.

  3. Zamax says:

    S. Paul is often expressed so puzzling and paradoxical. But let us remember that Jesus also, sometimes expressed in the same way. Because the world is governed by Providence, I think that this has a reason the economy of salvation. E’ certainly due and necessary to interpret, explain and dissolve the apparent riddles of Scripture led by the "Holy Spirit will tell us everything". But the fact remains that the Christian doctrine expounded in the clearest way, floor and deep along both can not susceptible, given the nature of language, and until the end of the world, It took to misunderstandings or less. The very fact that the man "talk" tells us that he is not "face to face" with that truth which needs no words. I think then that this expressive force was necessary to shake the dust from the soul of men and lay the foundations of Christian wisdom by stimulating it with his provocative charge. Then, naturally, there is who “wants” and who “does not want” to understand; and the latter, according to the times and conveniences, or ends up rejecting, or he expresses this intimate refusal bending it to his views.
