Note of clarification on some ambiguous words of the Holy Father: Man needs God, but God does not need man

We help the Holy Father with childlike clarity

NOTE ABOUT SOME clarifying AMBIGUOUS WORDS OF THE HOLY FATHER: MAN OF GOD NEED, BUT GOD HAS NO NEED OF MAN

.

We simply can not even suspect that the Holy Father has heard such things, benché il suo modo di esprimersi non sia stato dei più felici, and would have required, a nostro avviso, at least some clarification. Moreover, the Holy Father would not hurt to warn against the risk of an interpretation which leads to pantheism and to atheism, oggi molto diffusi.

Hearing of 7 June 2017 – to open the video click on the image

Nell’udienza generale del 7 June, the Holy Father pronounced the following words:

.

«[…] the gospel of Jesus Christ reveals to us that God can not be without us: He will never be a God "no man"; it is he who can not stay without us, and this is a great mystery! God can not be God without man: great mystery is this! And this certainty is the source of our hope, that we kept in all invocations Our father» [Official text WHO].

.

These words You could at first make us to mind the famous thesis of Hegel: "God without the world is not God". If it really was, it would be very serious statement, fraught with disastrous consequences on the theological and on the moral level, since it is clear that God is completely sufficient in Himself and can well exist without man. And indeed, They, there was already perfect, Blessed and completely alone and the Self, dall’eternità, before He created the world. He is supreme perfection, infinite and absolute. The Nothing can be added. Nothing Short of. The Nothing you can donate. What The gifts we give are the ones who gave us. Since nothing its essence can be completed, even the most sublime creatures. God is Absolutely Necessary, while the man is contingent creature. He is all for Himself; the creatures are nothing in themselves and, all that the creature is, it is from God.

.

He certainly is Love by essence, He gave his Son for our salvation, but always it remains that could have very well not to exercise this love to the world, Why, If she wanted to, It might not create it.

.

God created the world out of pure love and an act of perfectly free advice - utmost freedom ―, as the Vatican Council says, it created for pure and selfless love, without being absolutely necessitated by the structure of its essence, as well as instead they operate physical agents subhuman.

.

To think that God, per esistere, needs the active contribution or ideal man, Why da solo non ce la fa, He leads man to believe they can be essential to God and to shape the essence of God, that God becomes an idol, "Work of human hands' [Shall 135, 15], product of human thought, come nell’idealismo. Hence the temptation of believing man or a god to identify with God or take God. Or to put it in other words: se l’uomo non ci fosse, God would not.

.

In the literature of spirituality of Ashkenazi Jews, some rabbanim [the LORD] They tell us that "God had such a need to be loved and honored, that at some point he decided to create man in his own image and likeness, affinché l’uomo lo amasse e lo onorasse». It deals with, naturally, an expression of the whole poetic. Although as we know, in theology, and especially in the dogmatic theology, the licenze poetiche, per quanto belle, and sometimes also effective to make the idea, They may be non-hazardous infrequently, if not explained, but most if not explained well and as such, ie as licenze poetiche.

.

Now, we can not even suspect that the Holy Father has heard such things, although il suo modo di esprimersi non sia stato dei più felici, and would have required, a nostro avviso, at least some clarification. Moreover, the Holy Father, it would not hurt to warn against the risk of an interpretation which leads to pantheism and to atheism, Today both very popular.

.

The Holy Father's words They can then be understood in a mystical-affective-operational sense and also as referring to the mystery, in three ways:

.

first, in a mystical-affective sense: It is like the language of lovers, as when the lover says to his beloved "without you I can not stand '. Or as when one says all'altra or viceversa: «io ti adoro». Word that makes the idea of what it means to expression of deep emotional level, but in theological language has a meaning and above all a "application" very precise, because only God can be the object of adoration, unless otherwise run the serious risk of falling nell’idolatria.

.

Second, in Christ God has in some way to be in need of man. It shows Christ who asks for a drink to the Samaritan [cf. GV 4, 1-26], and even more it shows its request for cooperation all’opera of salvation, although poi la nostra libera risposta sia dono della sua misericordia.

.

Third, le parole del Santo Padre vanno intese come riferite al mistero dell’Incarnazione: God has united Himself in Christ forever to man, and nothing will ever separate this union. The union therefore of God with man in Christ, however, is a necessity in fact, not in law. If the concepissimo as a fusion of the two human and divine natures, cadremmo nell’eresia cristologica contraria al dogma della distinzione delle due nature del Concilio di Calcedonia.

.

This awareness, ci dice il Santo Padre, God in Christ it is forever linked to man, It is certain for us the source of great confidence in the Father, consolation and hope, which, however, must not exceed in a false certainty to save in each case and without conditions, canceling a holy fear of God, because it always remains in each of us the responsibility to pay or not to so much love, Why, if there sottraessimo with sin, a nulla ci servirebbe l’opera della redenzione.

will not prevail …

the Rev. Padri, shame that your note is not countersigned by the Pope and that you do not have any official position in the Vatican curia, what you say might have much more credibility. Your latest attempt is highly offensive to those who are on this side: Perhaps you are convinced that "the other side of the counter" are all "idiots" (in no way offensive, but with severe disabilities encefaliche). Your latest attempt to cover an elephant with a handkerchief is blasphemy against reason. Poor St. Thomas Aquinas!! Your ministry is for the salvation of souls or to help ruin?
Poor Papa was the victim of yet another speech written by someone who holds him captive. we, Dio blessing, we do not have "No official position in the Vatican curia", not because we are bad, but precisely because we are good.
official appointments – to which we have never aspired – They are now generously dished out to pernicious as heterodox Father Raniero Cantalamessa, as Cardinal Gianfranco Ravasi, as Enzo Bianchi running in cathedral cathedral to utter heresies after being appointed consultor of the Pontifical Council.

Ma … mi tip, for her, a 'Official business', Is it synonymous with theological orthodoxy and defense guarantee the deposit of faith?

Having said that I continue now responding to this statement: "Poor Papa was the victim of yet another speech written by someone who holds him captive".
My answer is as follows: She believes that if someone, a holy fox as John Paul II or a fine theologian like Benedict XVI, He had written similar things in a speech, them would read?
Face this question and to give only the answer.

Finally I reject indignantly, on behalf of the Father in my name and Giovanni Cavalcoli, the paradigm of the sinking of the Titanic, because both of us, da anni e anni, through our books, writings, homilies, conferences, we are screaming loudly "Iceberg, iceberg!».
Therefore, instead of doing schoolmaster foolish con noi, be angry with those who are pushing the ship on a collision course toward the iceberg, because we are always the ones who scream the danger, and if necessary we also yelled in the direction of Domus Sanctae Martha, but instead to dance, even within the halls of Domus Sanctae Martha, are other, from all those heretics titrated to which she gives high dignity and credibility not because orthodox and faithful to the deposit of faith, but why charge titrated.
It documents what he is doing to the Pontifical Academy for Life, Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia, Then write to us and above all show us that, to be “charge titrated” It is synonymous with the defense of the doctrine and faith.

And may God bless you !

Ariel S. Levi di Gualdo says:

          Caro Aquila,

«se il Papa si è espresso male o il suo linguaggio non è stato sufficientemente chiaro o altro, It should be the one to correct or remedy the damage, intentionally or unintentionally done; directly or by means of its employees (curia), non certo voi che non siete gli autori del danno».

Well, suppongo che lei, like all of us, sia stato battezzato.

          She writes:

E secoli dopo, il Santo Vescovo e dottore della Chiesa Ambrogio, in una precisa occasione inviò per i suoi messi questo messaggio al Sommo Pontefice: "Tell the Pope for me, after Jesus, there he.

      2. the appointment of a person as the Archbishop Vincenzo Paglia to the Pontifical Academy for Life ;

Sacramento have been achieved by these words spoken by the pastor during his reflection to the Gospel with its own booster hearing on 7 June, why now, a lot of, in their homilies, They are only able to say … “as Pope Francis …”, making often tell Francis what Francis did not say, But it also said that he often, done beautifully misunderstanding in every way.
I am modestly specializes in patristic, e, often, when I preach, I happen to say … “as said S. Augustine, S. Athanasius, S. Ambrogio, S. Girolamo …”
But I am “old”, although I 37 year old.
And the words that reached me were verbatim the following: ” … We can therefore say that man created God, that God created man” (!?).
All this under the bishop's throne, Bishop who calls once a year to make us a lecture Enzo Bianchi, and when does the meeting of the clergy, He speaks only of refugees and immigrants.
It omits to say which is my home diocese.

    Don Paolo

  11. George M. G. says:

I agree with mystic affective sense, and I am not surprised because in certain pre-conciliar booklets of devotion to Jesus they say things even things “worst” moreover seasoned with melodramatic pathos from nineteenth-century theater …
… so what the Pope said there is.

The important thing is to always keep in mind that the Catholic essence of Is is right to believe in the Holy Father figure because it is our faith to be structured so. In fact the theory of “Pope heretic”, ie heresy that afflict from time to time the Popes of history as a common cold is, as explained by the Fathers of the Island, as well as a big nonsense heresy that has little Catholic because it undermines the foundations of our doctrine. Sursum Corda so healthy and trust in Christ.

Maybe yes, but instead of remaining vague, do some examples? Because I actually saw attacks on these booklets of devotion do not have much foundation.

... so what the Pope said there is.
Hardly: because maybe in the devotional booklets there will be something a little strict, but there were popes and bishops who spoke clearly. What we are talking about is yet another episode in a long series, “seasoned” senseless obvious bishops and priests who revel in various parts of the world. Comment by Don Paolo below shows the situation well.

  12. Zamax says:

Do not touch me repeat what was said in a commentary two weeks ago: "It seems to me that the – as it were – constant double of the Pope's speeches is due, in spite of himself, the immanent mold theology of which yes it is nurtured and in which he wanted to see especially the seemingly compassionate look. "

Dad, if he wanted to be poetic but not ambiguous, He could rather be inspired by a magnificent step in a philosopher who had not known the Revelation: “We say, therefore, why the author realized the generation and this universe. He was good, and who is good will never generate any envy about anything: essendone therefore exempt, he wanted everything to be generated, per quanto era possibile, simile of” (Plato, Timeo). And say: God created us because he was good; because it was good wanted us to participate in His life; and its goodness prevented him, as it were, to abandon us when we fell in original sin.

    Don Francesco Messina says:

In truth, to scare, and more …
The popes pass, but often the damage remain, and remain for decades, sometimes for centuries.
So I'm not scared to certain unhappy outputs, but I'm scared for all bishops newly appointed many priests and that emulate, but worse mimic certain things.
In a few years the speaker of these ambiguous speeches and unhappy if he returns to the Father's House, While all other, emulators and scimmiottatori, remain ahead of the curve for other decades.
This what worries me much …

      Don Angelo Rossit says:

Don Francis, I'm afraid you're not the only one to be concerned.
Oramai, a creare sconcerto, no damage evident that we can see and that only the blind can not see, but the terrible dilemma: how to repair them after? Someone says (and I will fear), perhaps take decades, if all goes well …

  14. James N. says:

E’ It was important that you're Fathers intervened to immediately correct and charitably the meaning of that sermon read in S. Peter and not S. March (He would do less damage).
He reiterated again at the end before the Lord's Prayer “….we also think of the Father Our Father, who can not be without us……”, also replacing the verb to be to stay, The meaning varies slightly or that God exists only if there is the man.
The time that you metabolize all witness to many new online comments on various blogs of Christian faith.
Too bad that you often experience these events in part because his. We hope that is not emulated by shepherds in homilies.
Holy night, that the Holy Spirit gifts of the Faithful, Christian and Catholic clarity.

  15. candiac says:

    thank you note clarifying.
Actually I also thank you for bringing all the pope's words now read line by line and I come out shocked. The only thought that comes to mind is the lack of language.

However, what I regret is the almost constant need to clarify the pope's words. Your note does this unhappy task … not because the note is unhappy. On the contrary! it is precious … but because it is neither in heaven or on earth that a pope should always be explained. Is not it time “of just”?
But the gift of prudence, this stranger?
