Dopo la vittoria di Cristo sulla croce e l’imporsi della civiltà cristiana, che non s’identifica col cristianesimo, bensì col campo dove convivono il grano e la zizzania nel quale in qualche modo il cristiano “autentico” sarà sempre perseguitato, giacché anche la migliore civiltà cristiana resterà sempre il “mondo” nel senso evangelico del termine (cosa che certi tradizionalisti nel loro millenarismo al contrario, cioè volto al passato, non arrivano mai a capire o ad accettare, colpevolmente); dopo la vittoria di Cristo, I said, il male è, as it were, costretto ad agire attraverso manifestazioni anticristiche, dissimulatrici, a falsa somiglianza o a perversa imitazione di quelle cristiane.

Le rivoluzioni illuministiche e quelle comunistiche, che sono forme moderne di eresie millenaristiche, hanno mutuato molti aspetti dell’universalismo cristiano (si pensi alla pseudo-religione dei diritti umani o al carattere pseudo-religioso de l’ésprit républicain) mettendo però lo Stato al posto di Dio, abolendo i frutti della secolarizzazione cristiana (l’unica in realtà concepibile a lungo termine, cosa che i tradizionalisti di cui sopra, spaventati dal secolarismo anticristiano moderno, non hanno ancora voluto né capire né accettare) che distingue cioè che è del secolo da ciò che è da Dio a causa dei fini diversi, quantunque non conflittuali, ad un diverso livello gerarchico, dello stato e della religione, per “separarli” e creare così etiche di stato e forme di totalitarismo più perfezionate delle vecchie. E si noti che in genere solo in reazione ad essi nacquero totalitarismi statalistici su scala ridotta e nazionale che civettavano apertamente col neopaganesimo.

    Quindi il comunismo anticristiano, storicamente parlando, ha indirettamente rappresentato, per l’orbe non-cristiano, una forma brutale e perversa di secolarizzazione cristiana. Il fatto che civiltà e culture antichissime siano miseramente crollate sotto i suoi colpi non si può solo spiegare col realismo spietato e cinico dei suoi interpreti, ma anche col fatto che esso si faceva latore delle verità veicolate dall’universalismo cristiano e queste parlavano invincibilmente al cuore dell’uomo. E’ lo stesso schema che diede una forza misteriosa all’Islam dei primi secoli: barbaro ma rozzamente livellatore e imperfettamente universalistico, e quindi affratellante.

    Per quanto differenti, today (parlando in senso epocale) le realtà dell’Islam e della Cina si trovano in mezzo al guado, sapendo in cuor loro che finendo (com’è assolutamente inevitabile nel lungo termine) nella secolarizzazione cristiana essi finiranno nella civiltà cristiana, che d’altra parte non ha mai annichilito lingue e culture, e anzi le ha spesso ri-vivificate liberandole da ciò che vi era di caduco e disumanizzante in esse. La Chiesa Cattolica oggi non sembra avere le idee chiare né di fronte alle convulsioni del mondo culturalmente non cristiano né di fronte al decadente secolarismo anti-cristiano dell’Occidente attuale, per cui invece di ergersi luminosa come pacifico faro, preferisce “pacificamente” e confusamente venire a patti con entrambi.
